hey all, just got back from the show at seagulls on the gold coast of Australia, and what can I say... BRILLIANT!
We (ssnow, AussieGirl and myself) met up, had a blast and are gonna be ready to do it all again in about 16hours! so forgive us if we don't get reviews up quickly! We have sooo many stories to tell, and HEAPS of photos and video! ;D ;D ;D
PLUS WE ALL MET SEBASTIAN!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
This is just a teaser, as i have to get up for work in 3 1/2 hours! oh well, it was worth it! please be patient, we will let you know the details asap. ;D

Hi All, new member, long time fan...
I first saw Skid Row on their very first date in the UK, supporting Bon Jovi at the Milton Keynes Bowl. Then from recollection it was the night after I saw them at the Marquee Club. Then I saw them again on their first headlining tour (with Vain supporting). I saw them at Wembley with Motley Crue, at Wembley Stadium with Guns N' Roses, Birmingham NEC & London Docklands on the No Fuckin' Frills Tour, Donington 92, The Astoria show on the Subhuman Race Live Listening Parties Tour and then at the Brixton Academy on the Subhuman Race Tour. Yeah, I was a big fan. To me (and my friends) Sebastian was the voice of our generation and stood for everything we believed in.
When Baz left Skid Row I lost interest in the band, but still followed his career as well as that of his former bandmates.
I moved out to Oz back in 2001 and last year got to see Sebastian Supporting Guns N' Roses on the second date at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. I was absolutely blown away by the fact he'd got better with age and his stage presence and energy had seemed to increase. As soon as he announced his Angel Down Under tour dates and I saw one on the Gold Coast, I was first in line for a ticket.
So I turned up at Seagulls what I thought was a bit too early, roughly 6.15pm. There were about 5 other people there who were all really cool. I was wearing my Subhuman Race Live Listening Parties t-shirt that has somehow survived all these years and after walking over to the other guys hanging out there, out of a white mini bus comes Sebastian, larger than life.
Sometimes, I've been told, meeting your idols can be a very disheartening experience, but this was not one of those occasions by a long, long way. Sebastian was just awesome. He said hello to everyone and spotted my t-shirt immediately and asking where I got it, so I told him it was at the Astoria show. "Right On bro," I believe was his reply. He happily chatted, posed for pictures, gave me an autograph and gave everybody what they wanted. One of the guys who was there (I won't name him in case he doesn't want his name banded around here) took a photo of me with Sebastian and has promised to send it on to me. This guy is a major fan and has been to every date on the tour so far and is only going to miss the Perth show. He was a really nice guy and as I've said to him, I cannot even begin to describe my appreciation for him taking the photo and sending it onto me when he gets a chance. It'll be going in a frame with my ticket stub and autograph. It'll also be sent to some very jealous mates of mine back in the UK!!
Anyway, so after meeting Sebastian, who is an idol of mine and has been since I was 16 years old, it was going to be difficult for the evening to get any better!
The show itself was very good. The venue itself though sucked balls in my opinion, the sound was not the best by any stretch of the imagination and the place was not what you could call packed either, which is a travesty in my opinion considering the calibre of the performer. But Sebastian and the guys still put on a good show and were evidently having a great deal of fun up there on the stage. They blasted through a few old Skid Row tunes which were obviously going to be very popular, but for me the highlights were songs from the Angel Down album. The album itself is excellent and live, wow, those songs sound even better. Man...that voice is still just absolutely incredible.
I wanted to go to tonights show in Brisbane, but with it being my daughters birthday and family being here, I did the right thing by my daughter and stayed at home...I don't think she'd of appreciated me disappearing to see Baz halfway through her party!!
Anyway, so there you go, that's my experience from last night, from a sad old (ish) bastard who not only saw a great show but finally saw my late teen/early twenties dream of meeting the man I considered the voice of my generation come true - and I'll have the picture to prove it!
Those of you I met last night who post on here, hope you had a good a time as me and those of you following the tour into Brisbane and beyond - I hope you have a blast.

Hey Maddsy the guy who took your picture...was he a fairly young guy with a Tattoo of Sebastian on his arm that Baz had signed and he had the signature tattooed on as well??? He was in Melbourne as well and told me he was going to all the shows except Perth...cool young fella...I couldnt believe that Tatt....yes people hes got a full Portrait of Baz on his arm with Sebastian Bach in cool lettering and then hes got BAZs Autograph tattooed on as well....now THATS ROCK!!!!!!

It's not everyday you get to meet someone you've looked up to and admired for so long. I'm a big U2 fan as well and I got to meet them a couple of years ago and that was special. I must say at this point, honestly I don't go out stalking stars! Like Friday and meeting Baz was just pure luck. Last year my mate went to a small club back in the UK to see Skid Row and he met them and he asked Rachel Bolan that if he rung me would he speak to me, and he agreed. Imagine my surprise sitting at work on the other side of the world and my mate says, "I've got someone who wants to speak to you", and this very familar voice says, "How you doin' bro?!" I know Rachel's name on here might not be all that welcome going on his feelings towards Baz, but as I say he was the reason I picked up a bass guitar, so to speak to him about music for the best part of nearly ten minutes was really cool. |

we got to the venue at around 5 or 5:30 i think... it's all a bit of a blur! what a HUGE weekend! was that guys tat on his upper right (i think from memory?) arm???  i saw a guy at the show go to the stage and show Baz a tat... during a song... may have been him! isn't it weird how we all get together! that would've been great to actually meet up! next show... i wonder when that will be? soon i hope! can't go to the rest of the dates this time... maybe next! i'm still too buggered to write a review just yet... will get the video footage organised and uploaded asap. |

Ok well where to start... Well we have all had a HUGE weekend and I am Sooo tired but so wanted to post something cause I know what it is like waiting for a review... and I apologise in advance if this is too long and boring... Ok well My weekend Started off on Friday Morning at 9am and Finished Sunday Morning at 3am.... It was an absolutely amazing weekend and I am still on a high from everything.. Ok so Head off from My place to meet ssnow, I hit road works and everything never ever think I am gonna make it I left my place at about 10am after dropping kids off for school and what not... anyway eventually get to ssnows house the minute ssnow is in my car I just start getting so excited this is all real... and the poor girl hops in my car I stall it from excitement I hit the gutter turning around and I am telling you if we where not going to see Sebastian she may have just hoped out of my car and said see ya later crazy lady... but no she is brave and together we head down to Gold Coast, We are lucky enough to meet Baz and the band at the airport... The hole thing was like a dream and everything fell into place... we manage to even meet up with Aussiecozzie who was running late but as fate seemed to be on our side she did make it in time... Ok so ssnow and myself are waiting at the terminal for passengers to get off and looking across the tarmac looking for anyone from the band... we where there in our Angel Down Shirts waiting ... There was some blonde guy with long hair that distracted us at first watching him get closer wondering if that was Baz ... and then Johnny walked passed us and we did not recognise Johnny as he had a hat on and he has grown more of a goatee... so unfortunately we kinda snubbed him and did feel so bad about that later on when we realised... first person we actually recognise (cause I have to say they all look sooo different in real life) was Metal Mike and Oh my god he shocked me, cause I have to tell you both him and Johnny photo's do not show just how dam good looking they are..... so when Mike came up to us I was so speechless and I actually wondered if I was drooling... I do not know if I said anything to him I remember asking how there flight was but honestly I was speechless then all of the Sudden Baz is there... He just came up to us and I think both ssnow and myself may have actually screamed (not sure there) and then poor Mike goes ok guess my work here is done.. but honestly no he could have stayed, we wanted him to stay but I was just speechless... I forgot to ask any of the band members for autographs and you kinda do not want to harass them... cause you just feel so lucky to have them standing in front of you so you just do not want to push your luck... and truthfully if Baz had not asked us if we wanted our cd's signed I probably would have forgotten to ask him too.... Baz and the band where truly amazing they had just hoped of a 2 hour flight, after a big Melbourne show... and they where all so friendly, and they where happy to chat to us and take photo's... I just cannot get over how nice everyone was... and how insane I became I had a million things I wanted to ask Baz and the band but when I met him I was just speechless.. the man just makes you speechless all common sense thoughts go out the window and you just act like a crazy person... I remember speaking to him but real crazy stuff... anyway so Sebastian signs our cd's has a little chat we get hugs and photo's and Sebastian tells us he would see us at the show and off he goes... anyway we are texting aussiecozzie saying hurry up he is here... so we sort of hang about... and that is when we notice the rest of the band we had previously missed... so even though we snubbed them they where still kind enough to let us get some pictures... so we are there taking pictures of Rob and Mike and I believe Dave??? (I am not sure what his title is... but he was really cool). anyway so we are taking photo's of the guys then Sebastian is all the sudden there again and he hops in the photo's too... I did not get alot of photo's cause I did not want to be greedy and some of them are not the best as in slightly blurred cause I was rushing but I will post them.... So here we go Unfortunately My Photo with Sebastian is blurry  ... But hey I got to meet him so I am happy...  Ok some of the Band some also slightly blurred dam my camera....    So then the boys head to get there Luggage and we wait for Aussiecozzie... and luckily she makes it in time.. and so again we are chatting to Baz and the band... just so surreal... Aussiecozzie & Sebastian    Anyway so then we go to our hotel to check in and the girl staying next to us notices our shirts and then we start talking, as she is also off to the concert... and as she is telling me something I thought hmmm I have heard that on the Bach board and I say do you post on the Bach board and she said yep ask what her user name and she tells me it is Maz... so ends up us four all go together and have a fantastic night... It was fantastic meeting up with other Bach freaks and hanging out togther was so cool.... By the end of the weekend felt like I had known them all forever like they where old mates... We get there nice and early anticipating a huge line up... but well lucky for us I guess there was not.... we get right up front of the stage it was fantastic as Maddsy said the show was great the venue sucked... I really felt for Baz and the guys it really was not a great venue... and not alot of people which sucked for the guys... but I kept asking everyone I saw how they found out about show... and in my opinion there was not enough advertising and just about everyone I spoke to told me that they had been to GNR last year and Sebastian stole the show so that is why they wanted to see him again... so in my opinion if everyone at GNR had known Sebastian was back in town they would have been there... also we did also find out later that a Cog played the coast that night (actually not sure who Cog is but we where told they where huge) so apparently everyone was there which I did find so sad and like I say I really felt for Sebastian and the band... But as usual Sebastian and the guys did put on a great show.... managed to get a few photo's and video so will post some now and more later... I am so tired I will have to review Brisbane Show tomorrow which I can say this much it was friggin AWESOME The Best night of my life EVER.......

Was laughing and smiling through your post to Aussiegirl remembering it all.........the best weekend of my life. To Aussiegirl, Aussiecozzie and Maz - you girls are absolute legends and I am so glad we got to meet and go thru this experience together. And Aussiegirl you are probably a better driver than me lol. At the airport Baz actually spotted us before we spotted him and greeted us with "what's up" and yes I squealed  . I only know because i had the video camera taping. But unfortunately most footage is of the airport floor because i was so shocked and excited I forgot about the camera and all the questions I had. And so glad Aussiecozzie just made it........i won't tell the person who's car you borrowed what speed you were doing down the highway We did see some of the guys eating dinner at the venue and decided to restrain ourselves (very hard) and not annoy them. The best thing about the venue was the stage.......it had a platform adjoining the stage so we were literally standing there with Baz singing and Metal Mike playing right above us.......we could actually touch them (once again really hard to restrain ourselves). The crowd was crazy........i survived the moshpit but i have a few bruises from elbows and people trying to get on stage but we were four girls strong and we weren't giving up our spots! Thanks to Aussiegirl for organising everything and driving me down and to Aussiecozzie for being our getaway driver |
