I just want to express my deep disappointment with the Canberra show being cancelled. My hat goes off to the Hell City Glammers for making the effort to move their show to the Basement to headline with Sin City to give the Bach fans something instead of nothing.

Moved to a different venue. The Basement Belconnen. Alot of Bach fans went there instead. People were hoping he would make an appearance there given that his support band actually moved their gear and set up in time to headline.

yeah, we chatted to one of them about it, as we are not familar with driving around canberra it was easier to head home than try and get to it. They were super cool to do it, i intent to pick up there cd when it comes out.

o h and s might have been involved from what i hear. the venue was baracaded off with ANU security everywhere. i also heard it was a light put too close to the heat sensors in the ceiling and triggering off the sprinkler system. apparently this happened about 6pm and doors opened at 8pm.

I guess this article says it all --- Welcome to The RiotACT "Larrikin local website" - Possibly attributed to us by CityNews, April 2006 News Bach in the Puddle… By AngryHenry ⋅ May 31, 2008 ⋅ Email This Post ⋅ Print This Post ⋅ Post a comment Sebastian Bach’s coming to Canberra??? Holy sh*t when, where??? THE ANU!!! Wow, I can’t wait… Well, keep on waiting mother-truckers because for those of us who’d paid our hard earned to see it, didn’t. Sometime around soundcheck someone bumped a light in the ceiling of the refectory which set off the sprinkler system, this left the PA soaked and the venue flooded. The staff managed to clean up the mess and it looked like it would go ahead, the roadies saved the PA, then the fired brigade arrived and an electrician came a few hours later. They assessed the venue and reckoned the gig “wasn’t safe to go ahead”. CANCELLED!!! So they’ll let Elton John play in Commonwealth Park in the pissing down rain, outdoors with all of this electrical equipment but they’ll cancel Sebastian Bach at the ANU after a tiny accident that was well and truly cleaned up before the show? I’ve seen Midnight Oil play at the National Museum in the middle of an electrical storm but they can cancel a show because of a tiny sprinkler incident??? It is just completely bewildering and disappointing. Used to be the ANU was the place to go, so many great acts have been through that venue. And I know last nights unforseen circumstance was just that but people who are qualified event managers are trained and experienced to deal with this stuff. I was there before the bar closed when the fire brigade arrived and I saw no one manage anything, all I saw was panic and confusion. I’m pretty mad at the moment and sure maybe looking for someone to blame but I have seen shows go ahead under much more duress than this. For those of us who are responsibility-free, cashed up and have no obligations, our tickets are valid at tonight’s show in Newcastle; otherwise we can get a full refund from ticketek on Monday. And because of this little f*ck up, Canberra will continued to be bypassed by national tours. Keep on sending that positive message to the promoters guys. Well done to all involved. “You say it’s raining but you’re p*ssing down my back, so stop reading me the riot act” - Sebastian Bach From:- the-riotact.com/?p=7625

Is there any chance that the concert will be rescheduled? That would be better than having the tickets refunded!

Is there any chance that the concert will be rescheduled? That would be better than having the tickets refunded! They are pretty well booked for most of the year. Sounded to me like you were only given the choice to go to another concert or get your money back However, didn't Bas say he'd be back to Austrailia maybe at the end of the year? Dogface? didn't you say something about that?

I hope so, really keen to see him live again in a small veneu Small veneu's are the BEST ;D - Sure, I understood the first time I saw him at a small veneu that he's so much bigger than all that (height wise too of course). However, it's great to be at one of those as a fan.

It sucks man. All the effort we went to for nothing. Ah well, worse things could have happened.
A refund? Big F'ing deal, that doesn't cut it. They're supposed to be/have experienced promoters to deal with this ish. The show could have gone on had they got their ish together.

I heard from someone who was in the venue, and saw the details. The sprinklers went off and water was all over the amps, the gear, the band except for Baz and their luggage. Things may have looked dry on the outside if they wiped them up, but water in the amp could lead to an electrocuted person etc.
It really sucks this happened. Baz was bummed he could not play that night.

Yep that is what I heard too... from someone who helped clean it all up and agree could have been dangerous... and I do feel for Baz I imagine he would have been really bummed... he loves performing just as much as we love seeing him perform....

I really dunno about that though, I mean they are playing everywhere now for most of the rest of 2008 so if they somehow get back here I will be AMAZED...and OVER THE MOON ;D Im thinking that maybe once the Poison tour is over they would probably take some time off and then regroup to record the next album...then again they have been here 3 times in 18months so anythings possible!
