SebastianBlog 7.2.06 ANGEL DOWN VIDEO UPDATE #5 AMERICAN METALHEAD Muthatrucka !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SuperGroup Season Finale Comments Well I have seen the Season Finale of SuperGroup. There are some facts that I need to address: -Valerie & Doc, you seem to not understand why I feel entitled to some sort of control over the 'Skid Row' name. Please let me explain (although Doc already knows all this). Back in 1987 when I joined the band, yes it was already called Skid Row. I did not think up the name. But the fact is we bought the name 'Skid Row' from legendary British Guitar hero Gary Moore. His band 'Skid Row' was around in the early seventies & Gary Moore owned the name when we started in 1987. When the guitar player, bass player & myself all got signed to Atlantic (only 3 out of 5 members of the band were actually signed to the label ), Gary Moore heard about it & said we could have the name for $35,000 US Dollars. Snake & Rachel walked into rehearsal & said "WE have to pay Gary Moore 35 grand to use the name" & so we, as a band, did buy the name from Gary Moore. WE were all glad to do it because it is a great name for the band. I remember looking at Scotti & Rob saying "wow, thats alot of $ but WE gotta do it!" What I did not know was that Snake & Rachel put only their names on the copywrite / trademark of the name. No other members of the band has ownership of the name, even though 3 of us were signed to Atlantic. That's the music business for ya. It was not until years later after we bought the name from Gary Moore that I learned that we meant only 2 out of 5 members of the band. When I joined the band we had sold zero records. By the time I was fired in 1996 we had sold over 15 million records. Do I deserve a say in how the back catalogue is distributed, marketed, packaged, remixed/remastered etc.? Yes I do. Do I have any control whatsoever over my voice & image for at least 10 years of my career? At the moment, no. I hope to change this situation in the future. - I would like to apologize to Uncle Ted Nugent for being an 'unprofessional' during our show at the Empire. The song 'Stranglehold' is one of my favorite songs ever but the song clocks in at 8 or 9 minutes & during a 50 minute set that is a considerable amount of time! So I really did not know what to do onstage during this musically incredible but vocally nonexistant part of the show. I knew there were a stack of DAMNOCRACY shirts backstage that I saw before the gig so I figured, why not give these shirts to the people who came to see the show. I in no way meant to be 'distracting ' during Ted's lead. I'll bet the people who got free DAMNOCRACY shirts did not mind that I did this. Sorry Uncle Ted but all I was trying to do was get people to have fun & have a good time. - This is a reality show but it is more "show" than "reality". The world has to know that: a) Doc McGhee does not manage me (have not talked to him since March) b) Valerie & Jay are in no way my "publicists" (have not talked to these people since March) c) I do not have a 'stylist'. d) Unfortunately, there are absolutley no plans at this time for the band DAMNOCRACY. No tour, no album, no nothin'. I will play / record / whatever with DAMNOCRACY but at the moment all of us are busy with our Rock & Roll, Adult Film, & Hunting careers. I am recording my second solo CD entitled 'Angel Down' which will be in stores this October. See www.sebastianbach.com for video updates. My solo band will be on tour with Guns N' Roses this July in the UK. Hope you all enjoyed 'SuperGroup'. See ya on tour. Sebastian Bach

SebastianBlog 7.7.06 ANGEL DOWN VIDEO UPDATE #6: ROY Z IS THE PRODUCER OF THE CD ! We are completely honoured to be working with legenday Producer ROY Z on the new CD 'Angel Down'! ROY Z has produced albums for Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, & many other bands including his own 'Tribe Of Gypsies' who we are playing with in Japan! Click here for a vidclip introducing ROY & also ED ROTH who plays piano on a song I co-wrote with Desmond Child that we recorded today. This album is sounding killer and is shaping up to be my best yet !!! This is Awesome News ANGEL DOWN VIDEO UPDATE #7: STEVE DiGIORGIO WRAPS UP BASS TRACKS Steve Digiorgio, Johnny Chromatic, & Adam Albright have all completed their tracks on the record. Click here for Steve checkin' out his bass tracks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Roy Z~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` If ever there was a Renaissance Man in modern day hard music - Los Angeles, California native ROY Z is it. Equally proficient as a guitarist, songwriter/arranger, and producer/engineer/mixer, his portfolio contains some of the biggest names in metal, including UK legends Judas Priest and Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, hiphop/hardcore pioneers, Downset, and Z's own Latin rock band, Tribe of Gypsies, all of whom have benefited hugely from Roy's unique vision, versatility, expertise, and spirit of life. The ability to relate and adapt to different situations and his appreciation for diversity goes back to Roy's formative years growing up as a Latino kid in the barrios of L.A., an environment that yielded all colors of the rainbow in more ways than one. "Where I grew up was a melting pot. Lots of black people, lots of Mexican people, and there were some poor white people, too. There was a lot of mixture of people and the music that was going around in my neighborhood was pretty incredible," reflects Z. "You had the Latin stuff, and my white friends were playing Led Zeppelin and Sabbath to me. The guy across the street was from Belize and he played steel drums. Next door was a lady from Honduras and she played Salsa. The lady two houses down sang in a gospel choir. All this music, man, was really cool." At age thirteen, Roy bought a guitar with 50 dollars he got for Christmas and life was never the same after that. Inspired by the guitar gods of the day such as Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Michael Schenker, and Jimmy Page, Z immersed himself in the instrument and soaked up everything he could, writing his own songs, and playing for hours on end. Before too long, Roy was recording his own home demos, jammed at backyard parties, and gigged locally with a succession of metal bands. But it was his desire to re-connect with his Latin roots and a self-produced 8-track demo of an embryonic Tribe of Gypsies, which scored a deal with a small German label, that got ROY Z's ball rolling for good - although not exactly the way the guitarist had envisioned: "I ended up as the producer by default because we couldn't afford a real producer with the budget we had", recalls Z. "But with all the extensive pre-production we had done, I pretty much knew what I wanted and felt confident enough to pull it off." So did one Bruce Dickinson who upon hearing a few Tribe mixes asked Roy to fly to England to work with him on what became the 'Balls to Picasso' album, the start of a still ongoing relationship. And true to the old adage "when it rains, it pours", the next break was just around the corner - literally: "I hooked up with these kids from my neighborhood who were in a straight edge hardcore band called Social Justice. I produced a single with them and took them under my wing, helped shape their sound, and wrote the songs with them. We did another demo after they became Downset that got them signed to Mercury, and I ended up producing the album as well. Next thing I knew I was getting all kinds of offers and inquiries to produce other bands." Over the next few years, ROY Z wrote, played, recorded, and produced - most of the time wearing multiple hats - with everyone from the aforementioned Downset to German metal meisters Helloween, Boston stoner kings Roadsaw, punk rockers Klover, featuring members of the seminal Gang Green, former Driver band mate/ex-Impellitteri frontman Rob Rock, and Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, whose resurgence as a solo artist with 'Accident of Birth' and 1998's monumental 'The Chemical Wedding' was in large part due to Roy's keen musical instincts and creative input. At the same time, Z also continued to pursue his own career with Tribe of Gypsies, producing acclaimed albums such as 'Revolucion 13' and 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants', a/k/a 'Tribe of Gypsies III', the latter with the legendary team of Ritchie Podolor and Bill Cooper (Steppenwolf, Michelle Branch, etc.) lending a hand. To top things off, the Tribe landed a coveted opening slot on the Santana 'Supernatural' tour 2000, culminating in a rousing two-night stand at San Francisco's Shoreline Amphitheatre and a memorable backstage meeting with the Godfather of Latin rock himself, Carlos Santana, who gave the band his blessings. It was another rock deity, the Metal God, Rob Halford, who came calling next after a failed venture with Trent Reznor and has occupied much of ROY Z's time over the past few years. And as was the case with Bruce Dickinson earlier, Z once again managed to tap into the essence of a classic artist and produced and co-wrote what was easily the most talked about metal record of 2000, 'Resurrection.' It is little wonder then that Halford has gone on record as saying that "Roy is the best producer I've ever worked with. He really has the psychology down as a producer - he never loses his temper or gets in your face. He understands how musicians work because he’s a musician himself. His big thing is that 'you don’t need to force it, dude - just relax and enjoy it, this is what we do'." - Capitalizing on the huge buzz, Halford followed up 'Rez' with an all-encompassing double disc 'Live Insurrection' (2002), and 2003's crushing 'Crucible', which saw the band expand on their sonic vision while at the same time retaining and refining the key elements that made 'Resurrection' such a resounding success. To top things off, Roy joined the band on guitar for the duration of their Japanese and American treks in early 2003. The culmination of ten years of hard work, 2005 kicked off with a double bang of high profile Z-masterminded metallic bliss. The guitarist not only re-teamed with Bruce Dickinson for 'Tyranny of Souls', their first full-length collaboration in some 7 years, but also sat at the helm of one the most anticipated records in years, Judas Priest's blazing reunion spectacle, 'Angel of Retribution.' Featuring the Z-co-write 'Deal With the Devil', the album debuted in the US Billboard Top 20 and quickly sailed past the 500.000 sales mark worldwide, establishing Priest atop the metal world order once again. Just barely into his mid-30's, ROY Z has indeed come a long way since those early barrio days and amassed an impressive resume both as a musician and behind-the-board magic maker to the stars and stars-to-be - something this Angeleno doesn't take for granted: "I do consider myself lucky and I am grateful to have a leg in both worlds. A lot of musicians who would like to produce, either while they're actively playing music or as they transition out of it, never get the opportunity. The process of creating an album from the ground up and seeing it bloom into something really cool is very satisfying and a great feeling." www.royzmusic.com/biography.html~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is Killer News~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day 28...................

godsmack is opening for baz and steve ace. steve was impersonating baz in that clip. godsmack is playing that festival in japan with baz i believe. oh wait i don't think steve is playing those shows. i think rob is still standing in for him. Haaaaaaaaaaa I know that ;D Know Rob was only in for the 3 shows as reported by the Rockdetector...... Steve is supose to be with Baz. But I am going to add your "KILLER" Updated of Day 28 Guitarist 'METAL' MIKE CHLASCIAK Issues SEBASTIAN BACH Studio Report - July 7, 2006 Guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak (HALFORD, PAINMUSEUM, SEBASTIAN BACH) has issued the following update: "Wanted to start a limited number of studio diaries for you all that write me about the progress of our/Baz's [Sebastian Bach's] new album, 'Angel Down'. Not a problem from this side and thought it would be much easier to put this into a diary-type format for everyone instead of answering single e-mails. "Let me just pick up from yesterday. "Today, our resident king of rumble manipulation, Mr. Steve DiGiorgio [bass], came in well determined to finish off the remaining of his bass parts for the album. I must say ... I have never seen a bass player just plow through the songs as only DiGiorgio can. I have witnessed Steve's abilities first-hand during the recording process for PAINMUSEUM's 'Metal For Life' album, where Steve did 11 tracks within two days. Wish I was kidding for all of you aspiring bass players out there, but I am not. So, anyhow ... Steve ripped through any remaining songs that needed touch-up or complete bass line. Since all of the songs are recorded live for this album, we are looking for the general vibe of the track and later touch up on any parts needing any additional attention. I have never done an album in this fashion. It's always drums first, guitars next, bass and then vocals. But not for this album. By live I mean that we are all set up in the studio — two guitars, drums, bass, Baz, and we go through each song several times live (i.e. at the same time) to capture the best performance. Although it can be a scary situation, it is also extremely rewarding. Nothing beats a songs that just 'has it' that was recorded live ... the feeling of an entire band playing as one, strength in numbers, all for one, one for all. "After Steve completed his parts, we set up the band again to record one of the ballads for the album. Now I might be biased and I won't spoil the surprise with the title, but we all got goosebumps upon hearing back the playback. Yeah, it's one of those ...... I hope you are all ready. So while the rest of us dismissed ourselves into several other activities like catching up on phone calls and trips to the local liquor store, Baz worked with Roy Z on several vocal tracks for the ballad. Talking about damn electric ... I hope you are all ready. "The evening turned into guitar tracking madness. Today I have decided to complete tracking 'Take You Down With Me'. My setup was my usual pain inducing system .... Randy Rhoads Jackson V into a Marshall JMP-1 Pre Amp/ EL34 100 Watt Power Amp combo, into a vintage 4x12 Marshall cab with 25 watt speakers. I am happy to be one of the proud metallists not afraid to plug into a Marshall with a Jackson. I did two rhythms on the left with this set up. For the right side, I have exchanged the amp set-up and went into a Laney amp that was modified for the king of metal himself ... Mr. Tony Iommi. If it's good enough for Tony, it's good enough for me and the blend of Marshall on one side and Laney on the other made for a killer sound. The song shreds, and it is always it is my metal pleasure to record with the talents of our drummer Bobby (Jarzombek) and DiGiorgio in the rhythm section. Does it get any better? "The evening was slowing down about 2AM with Padron tequila shots among me and the rest of the brave souls left at the studio in the evening. It was time to pack it up. Tomorrow, Bobby and I will be shooting some live videos for Ferrante Power Equipment/FPE.com site, spotlighting some of the equipment we have been using in the studio. FPE's owner John is an artist rep for some of the companies' products that we endorse, including Evans Drumheads, D'Addario Strings and Planet Waves cables and accessories. Rest of the day will be followed by what else? Bach screaming his brains out and me terrifyng everyone with more guitars." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some say 2 thumbs up. I say Pinky & a Pointer
