Bach is back!!!
For those Sebastian Bach fans that have been wating over a decade for some new material to really show off what Bach can do with his voice, look no further. An Absence Of Empathy is truly one of the best prog rock/metal albums that I have heard in a long time, & this can be credited to both the top notch music of the amazing Henning Pauly, & without dout the unbelievable performance of Mr. Sebastian Bach. Those expecting Skid Row revisited may be disapointed, but instead you are givin a musical journey into a world of violence, intrigue & the lack of empathy that our society has for the common nature of violence. Bach has finally been givin strong enough material to really make him shine in this career defining performance. Exellent on all accounts. 5/5

Amazing, Yes I agree (to some extent)
I agree, 'An Absence of Empathy' is amazing. It is rich with variation and different emotions. The only thing that bothers me are the tracks: 6)'Push the Button', 7)'In An Empty Room' and 12)'What Kind of Animal'. In a way I kind of like 'Push the button', but it doesn't grab me enough like most of the other tracks. 'In An Empty Room' and 'What Kind of Animal' aren't exactly bad, but a little bit boring if you are in the mood for more up tempo stuff. Still it is now one of my favorite albums. I have to give Sebastians song performance 5 stars, and in overall 4 stars for the album, but because of the variation on this album I thing it will grow and probably end up with 4.5 stars.

WOW
It's been a long time since I actually bought a CD. Having bought this CD I am just absolutely amazed. Talk about a hard rocking and steady album, this cd just keeps going and going. There is not one song on the CD that isn't bad IMHO. Coming from groups like Guns n Roses, Motely Crue, Metallica, Sebastian Bach, Skid Row and that era, I can safely say this is one of the best cd's that I have came across in a LONG time. There isn't any 2 minute songs on here either. I believe every song is at least 5 minutes long while a couple are 8-9 minutes. I could go on and on about the CD and by breaking each song down 1 by 1. I won't do that though in this post. My advice is if you like Sebastians Voice and energy then you must have this CD. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

United States of America 2003 ProgRock Records Active
Current line-up
Sebastian Bach - vocals (Skid Row, Sebastian Bach & Friends, The Last Hard Men)
Henning Pauly - guitars, keys & piano (also in Chain)
Steve Katsikas - sax
Eddie Marvin - drums
Former/past member(s)
James LaBrie - vocals (also in Mullmuzzler, Dream Theater, Winter Rose)
Nik Guadagnoli - bass
Additional notes
Frameshift is a 2003 collaboration between Henning Pauly of Chain and Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie. Other featured musicians on the debut album 'Unweaving The Rainbow', based on the evolutionary novels of Richard Dawkins, would be guitarist/bass guitarist Nik Guadagnoli, saxophonist Steve Katsikas and drummer Eddie Marvin.
A 2005 Frameshift album 'An Absence Of Empathy' would secure the high profile services of ex-Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach. Unfortunately this union resulted in a vicious war of words conducted between Bach and Pauly following the album release as the two disputed songwriting credits.
