Wow, back home and just awesome feeling about yesterday! I got in front row and almost went nuts when waiting for Bach to start the show. I was so nervous in a good way and tensed and everything. Like a teenage girl or something ;D, and I´m over 30..  Well, finally music started and the band members came to the stage and I was shaking and all and didn´t know if I laugh or cry  Just so emotional feeling going on inside of me. And then - finally Bach came to the stage! I was so excited and I almost started to cry (what a wimp I was  ). But the show was so energetic right from the start so I got very high and happy feelings and then I was rocking with the guys! They started with "Bach in the saddle" and wow what a show from the beginning! There were also Skid Row songs and wow it was just amazing! Bach was in a very good mood, smiled between the songs and just so relaxed and of course - handsome  ! And the voice - still get cold vibes when thinking of that...! After the song "By your side", the crowd just applauded so long time that Bach got amused It was so great to see him enjoying of Finnish audience. The show was about 1h and there was maybe 13 songs, if I remember right. I was so excited, just after counting now and try to remember the songs. Only minus was that I didn´t get to meet Bach  since many fans have met him and told he meets a a lot of fans after the show. Well, can´t have everything  I also had camera with me, I´ll add some pictures later! |

I met Baz yesterday..... many times. I got so good pics from gig, hotel and Inferno that I can´t belive it yeat. 20 years it took but hey it was worth of waiting definately. He was in a very good mood and talked to us a lot. Band members were great too. Drummer looked like Jone Nikula Gig was great and I know Baz have a lot of new fans in Finland after this. I heard very nice comments from hard heavymetal dudes after the gig. Today I supposed to be in Oulu but not this time. |

sounds like you had an awesome time johku! the emotional feelings get ya everytime but it's so great!
the more i read your reviews the more the anticipation grows for me to see sebastian and the guys next month.

I have seen him do this a few times, and even hang upside down from the light rack. It scares me each time I see it.

Thanks Mona, your pictures were great too When watching all these pics, just makes me wanna have some more Bach I just read from some forum that after Sauna was over on saturday, the band went to bar Inferno (bar in Tampere) for after parties. And of course they were surrounded by a lot of fans. Wish I had been there |

Sauna Open Air Metal Festival 7th June 2008
When I arrived home from Estonia I just threw laundry to the floor and packed new stuff in my bag. While we were (with my husband) driving to Tampere we stopped in Hyvinkää and got our daughter in our car from the place she was staying over a night. We listened to Angel Down while we drove and I drank some cider. About 3pm we arrived Piia’s home and after little eating we headed 5pm to South Park (yeah it’s called Etelä Puisto in Finnish). We saw the end of the Sonata Arctica’s set and after it we were standing near the stage. While we (me, husband and my friend Piia) waited for Sebastian’s show we had to listen to some moran behind us. This guy was telling some mean stuff about Baz probably because we all were wearing Sebastian Bach T-shirts (mine) and he wanted to irritate us. I wanted to hit him, kick his ass and nuts – I was so close to it but I managed to stay calm – otherwise I’d have been yelling and fighting. That little coxksucker, shitehead, imbesill… After Baz’s show I didn’t see him but my husband said that guy was apparently pretty amazed by Baz. I’d have liked to ask him: How about now? Do you like Metal or Britney Spears… That was the best show I’ve ever seen!!! Sebastian and guys know how to rock!
Maybe in the middle of their set I showed them again my Hi Baz! U Rock! sign. They noticed that. Then I got an idea and I wrote a new note to them with Piia’s help: C YA 2 tomorrow. Baz and Mike were laughing at that one.
After the show husband said that it’s going to be hard to do better than that in Oulu. That was his fourth Sebastian Bach show. Oh boy, I’m so proud of him – I’ve shown him some quality music and he’s so into it. He used to have Youth gone wild as ringing tone on his phone (but I stole it) and he was wearing Sebastian Bach T-shirt on the show, that’s something. He’s usually so “calm and smart” and he hates crowded places (he’s so alarmed then because of his job) but there he was standing with us watching Baz’s show but he wasn’t jumping and rocking like a maniac like I did. And I can tell you that when he drove back home from Tampere with our daughter he came straight to computer and signed in to BachBoard. I’m pretty sure he won’t ever post anything but he’s very interested in Sebastian’s music!!!
The set list was shorter than in Tallinn or Oulu, it was an hour set, normal festival time. They started playing 6pm with Back in the saddle. Other songs were Here I am, Piece of me, Youth gone wild, 18&Life (the place exploded then – that was magic!!), I remember you, Monkey Business and Slave to the Grind from Skid Row. Also they played You don’t understand (my favourite – would have wanted an encore of it right away!!!), Bitchslap, American Metalhead, By your side, stabbing daggers, You bring me down and maybe some more. (I don’t remember the order) They ended with Youth gone wild and Angel Down like in Tallinn and Oulu. During the show he was climbing on metal “tower” what it’s called now… and I was afraid that he would fall down. Thank God he didn’t fall down.
When they got off the stage we waited around the door that led finally to back stage. We waited there about 40min and chatted with two KISS freaks who had also loved Sebastian’s show. We didn’t see Sebastian so we went to the beer area. We met Piia’s big brother (Skid Row fan also since 1989) there and he asked us how did we find it. We said That fuxking rocked our arses off!! He said that he begun to cry when he heard Piece of me live after 20 years waiting. He thought also that it was the best show he has ever seen.
Scorpions started their show around 8pm and we listened to some songs. We thought we had seen everything (Baz) and decided to go to restaurant Amarillo and eat something. I was so tired after jumping, having only little sleep etc so that I almost slept in that restaurant table… My cousin and his boyfriend came to meet us there and we talked about the Baz’s show. Before they begun their riding their Harleys’ back home we smoked some cigarettes out side. We heard that Scorpions were in that Hotel (Ilves) and I thought that maybe Baz is also there. I wanted to wait for him but I knew I have to go to bed that I can get out of bed early next morning.
There at bus stop we Piia and me were so tired, true rockers going home before 11pm. In the bus my phone started to rang Youth gone wild and I just said: Let’s listen to this one of the greatest evergreen rock tune. And we just giggled. My friend from Tampere asked me to go out with her so I told her about three days Bach tour and she understood that I had to go to bed.
There in Tampere I was thinking that I’d love to hear only the new stuff. I love old Skid Row but it’s time for Sebastian’s new stuff. But I understand it that they “must” play also the old hits because of the fans who may not be so familiar with new stuff and who want to listen to those old songs. I understand it. Of course when I go to see Mötley Crüe etc I want to hear old stuff. But I’m so into Baz’s new music like songs from Frameshift/Absence of empathy, Angel Down and the new songs that he may not have been playing live yet and I was so eager to hear those songs. I just recalled how well Baz pronounced word Tampere I noticed that in Oulu while we were talking about Tampere show. That’s not the easiest Finnish word. (Miss ya Sweetie already!)
The next day we drove to Oulu with Piia’s Saab. We had so fun in Oulu too!!

I was very surprised when I was checking my MySpace site couple days ago. Those things were so sweet of him. I was that surprised that I screamed and yelled something while reading his comments (he also commented on my review) and husband came asking what the heck happened. It was Baz that happened. ;D |
