By Your Side - Inspired by?

Hey all, just wanted to say I picked up the new CD and I love it...

One song touches my heart specifically, really closely... By Your Side. Last year I lost my best friend on August 30, 2007, she was 37 and had a new baby son... the song literally sounds like it was tailor-written for our relationship.

I am wondering what the inspiration of it actually was for Sebastian? Did he go thru something similar?

The song By Your Side is Actually about Sebastian's Dad, who passed away on 28th August 2002.

It is a song that can apply to anyone who has lost someone recently. But it is about Baz's Dad. A little freaky to be posting that today, since it is the anniversay of his death.

Good thoughts are being sent Baz's way.

Thanks for the replies... wow I hadn't considered today was that day. I had no idea. Strange the way the world works...

I imagined it was for his dad, but some of the wording makes it sound like he's singing it for a female with a son... but that's the beauty of great songwriting, you can kind of interpret it exactly how you need to for your own (Also what I love about Tesla's songs)
