Hello Mr Sebastion Bach. I hope you take the time out of your day to quickly read what I have to say. I have been a life long fan of your's, even though im only 16 years of age. I have grown up listening to SkidRow, and even enjoyed the latest Angel Down CD. I also had the pleasure of seeing you open up for Axl Rose in Winnipeg Manitoba of 06. You have been my favourite singer for years, and to find out that you have turned to country just disturbes me. An idol of mine for so many years, you have now turned to country just to make some extra doh. I cant help but be extremely dissapointed that you have done this. Go ahead and say whatever you like, say that you have always enjoyed country music, but deep down you and I no its just not true. Thankyou for reading, a former fan. --Cody Thompson. Hey Cody! I know you're young and all.. and you've seen Sebastian all Metal...
But artists evolve... they evolve and expand the scope of their talents... Sebastian has always been an adventurous type to try new things with his talent.. look at what he's done already, his acting on TV.. his performances on Broadway, his first country song... I as a fan sit back and go Wow! Because what other musical artist can boast of so many accomplishments? Sebastian is second to none...
And yes he's expressed an enjoyment of country music and I believe it because he has also expressed that he enjoys listening to Whitney Houston! Sebastian is not defined by one stereotype of music... instead, HE defines his music. This is what makes him the most amazing performer, vocalist, artist and songwriter on earth (In my own, long-standing opinion of him)
If you loved his Metal music, you will love anything that he sings.. If you believe that he can kick ass at anything he chooses to do, then be assured that Sebastian will continue to you amaze you in good ways.. as he will continue to amaze the rest of the world in the years to come.

very well said southernkitty . i personally am i fan of all music and i appreciate all of sebastian's accomplishments. not too many artists out there can do what he is able to do with his voice and his range. i love the fact that he isn't afraid to jump in and try different things and with him being so versatile could open many doors, i think it's great!!! jojo

Hey guys, I dont remember if most of you remember me, but after a few months of thinking... I dont blame Sebastian. I now honestly believe that Sebastian loves all sorts of music. He's not a real sell out like some people/bands.Bon Jovi comes to mind. Hi Cody. I just want to say that I, for one, appreciate the fact that you've taken the time to come back on the Board to say that you've had a change of mind about Sebastian. That's really good to hear. You're a cool dude to admit to that. Many wouldn't.

Ahh that is music to my ears. Super glad he decided to come out with a rockin' album also. This way he pleases both types of fans. I can't wait to hear the demo tracks. Glad to see you back Also glad to see you were able to broaden you thinking, thats awesome! One of my fave sayings i snagged from Sebastian was the saying "People are people" thats very true.

Ok, I'll bite. I'm also a longtime fan, now 38, and have been a huge fan since the '80's. To say that I was disappointed when Baz appeared in Celebrity Rap & Country is an understatement.
I, like many others I have spoken to within my circle of friends, saw it as a "sell-out", a grab for cash and opportunity to get back into the diminishing limelight. I believed that his talent alone in kicking out the jams was enough to earn him a healthy living, but sadly, Angel Down (which I have bought 4 copies of), as killer as it was with the support of Mr Rose, was not the skyrocket Baz expected it to be. In my opinion as an observer, this is the reason why he has merged into different genres.
Metallica released an album playing alongside an orchestra. But the power of their music made the unlikely pairing seem a natural progression. Fast forward a few years and they were dead in the water after St Anger. But they did not put out a cabaret album to the Michael Buble audience. Enter "Death Magnetic", and the rest is history.
I bought "Battle With The Bottle" through iTunes, only because it was Baz, but I will not buy an album of country tunes.
This kid codyt comes on the board and gave his opinion, and without surprise, since this is the Baz board, was quickly told that he needs to open his mind/eyes to different genres, the reasons why Baz did what he did is answers x,y,z. But I was on his side of the court, and I don't have to support him just because he is Baz! In this instance, it's a case of agreeing to disagree.
P.S. Please let's not turn this into a "your not a true fan" or "don't be so closed minded" argument. Iv'e driven all over the country and spent hundreds of dollars following Baz's career. I just don't like what is happening, and I completely understand that I don't have to like it either. What I would prefer to see is Baz stick to his roots, and if this band is not famous enough for public recognition, to create one that will start people talking, and I don't mean "Supergroup" either!
Regards to you all!

Hellyeah,
The reason I responeded as I did to Codyt, was in his signature. He signed himself "a former fan".
You don't lose ALL your appreciation for an artist just because he goes in a direction you don't like, or that you don't agree with. I have been a music fan for as long as I can remember, and since I'm a lot older that most of the Sebastian fans, Codyt could be my grandson, I felt I was able to give a little more prospective. I honestly don't like Rap music, and only watched Celebrity Rap to see what Baz would do on it. Since I like some country, and most of today's country music is very similar to early rock songs, I was willing to give the country side a chance. I liked Battle with the Bottle, when the country album is released, I will give it a listen also. Whether or no I buy it, will depend on how many songs on it I actually like. To quote the person we are all fans of, there are only two kinds of music, good and bad." It is up to the individual to decide which one they think a song or CD is.
One other point I want to make, while reading both Codyt's and your reply, I had the feeling I was dealing with my father, who considered ALL ROCK MUSIC to be CRAP!!
Keep Rocking.

I enjoyed your post hellyeah we are all entitled to opinions and good on you for saying your piece.. Nobody has to agree with everything Baz does it is his life... but I respect the fact we are all different and still think it was brave and honest of Cody to post what he did... and then to come back and say hey I was wrong...
I myself enjoy many different types of music and am always happy to see my favourite artist do anything.. but have to admit I find it sad that the way the music industry is today he really has no choice in someways... I personally think Baz deserves to be at top of charts and selling out stadiums.. and sometimes it makes me angry he works so dam hard and does not get the respect from the industry and public that he deserves... I cop so much crap from my friends & family about me being a Baz groupie and it is the reason I do not post as often as I use too but if they went to just one concert with me they would understand his Passion...his passion for making music is what has me hooked I have never been a groupie of anyone but Sebastian is special there is something about him... more than his looks but his energy on stage is awesome...

"I have someone who seems obsessed with everything I write on here and likes to copy and paste it and emails it to people and makes fun of it -- "Whoa Aussiegirl! That is just bizarre!! I suppose you could take it as a back-handed compliment that this person sees what you write as so fascinating they are obsessed with you, lol. But, apart from that, it's just plain sad really, isn't it? And maybe just a little bit sick. Gee there's some weird people in this world.

When I wrote the original post I was angry and said some things I didnt mean. It gets real annoying when your friend's are calling your "hero" a sell out. So, in frusteration I did the only thing I could. I said what I had to say. Do I wish he would stick to his roots? Well yeah! I think that's what hes best at. You are apsolutely right in the fact that I shouldn't have to support him just because its baz. If I dont like the music, then I should be entitled to not buy it. Right? The one lesson I take out of this is that I can now see someone else's perspective and not just my own.

I don't have a problem with people voicing their opinions at all. One term I do have a problem with is someone calling an artist a sell out because they don't want to be stuck in one genre of music. There is nothing wrong with Sebastian branching out. Have you ever considered how many fans of other types of music are introduced to his amazing talent when he does these shows?
I know its hard for the hard core rock fans to accept that Sebastian wants to branch out. I'm not saying your wrong but what I am saying is this. Don't judge it until you hear it and don't begrudge people like me who respect Sebastian more because he does have the balls to do something different.
Sebastian no matter what he sings will always be a rock star at heart. He will always keep making great music from his heart. People change, people develop different interests. Sebastian should be free to follow where ever his interests steer him with out people calling him a sell out. A sell out is someone who would never have the guts to reach for that brass ring and follow their heart. I have been fairly quiet on this subject but I will tell you this I have been a fan of Sebastian's since I was 12 years old. Sometimes you need to broaden your horizons and I personally welcome his new music.
Like it or hate it, buy it or don't, thats your choice and we all have our own choices to make.

i stalked baz from istanbul to ankara. nothing bad happened. maybe thats because we havent seen each other on the road. it was fun tho.. Well part of the thrill is the chase... Snow, Aussiecozzie Maz and myself had a ball chasing him around the coast when he was here... Should have seen aussiecozzie snow and myself at airport... aussiecozzie was late she had car problems and she was wait for me what ever you do... do not let him leave the airport before I get there... Think she was doing like 160km down the goldcoast highway 110 is speed limit but man she made some good time... cause she made it and we kept an eye on baz for her until she arrived...
