GUNS N' ROSES: Australian Tour Dates Announced - Apr. 3, 2007

Paul Cashmere of Undercover News reports that Axl Rose is returning to Australia for the first time in 14 years with his new incarnation of GUNS N' ROSES.

The GN'R "Chinese Democracy" tour will play Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in June.

The GUNS N' ROSES lineup is W. Axl Rose on vocals; guitarists Robin Finck, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus; bass player Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pittman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

The Australian tour will be a spectacular in its own right with SEBASTIAN BACH and Australia's rock legends ROSE TATTOO performing as special guests.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, April 26.

Ok got the prices for gunners Gold Seating is $150 and Silver is $99, Pre sale Visa Tickets go on sale tomorrow the 17th at 9am ends Thursday the 19th at noon, at an extra cost of $20 per ticket, then Ticketeck Members have presale the 23rd no extra cost, then the general public tickets go on sale 9am the 26th.

I am so excited I just wish I could order mine tomorrow but don't think I will be able too, still 3 days to payday how sucky, :-[plus not sure of final numbers yet

I am so excited I bought my tickets for Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney today!!! Thanks Treen for wishing me luck in my mission to meet Bas. Just thought I'd report that there are yet MORE rumours going around the Internet about Guns cancelling the Australian shows but they are NOT true, yet again.

Guns 'n' Roses Tour For Australia Still Going Ahead

New reports overnight that the Australian leg of the Guns 'n' Roses has been indefinitely postponed are incorrect according to promoter Paul Dainty.


Dainty has once again confirmed to Undercover News that reports emanating out of South Africa last night that the Australia and New Zealand Guns 'n' Roses shows have been postponed following yesterday's decision by the band to pull out of South Africa have not been confirmed.

"I spoke with them last night and they did not tell me that," Dainty told Undercover.

Earlier, Japanese dates were postponed after bass player Tommy Stinson fell down a flight of stairs. Guns 'n' Roses postponed their Japanese dates because of the injury and yesterday also put South Africa on hold.

The South African shows were to take place in Johannesburg and Cape Town on April 27 and May 1st. "The South Africa dates are next week," Dainty said. "The Australian dates are still months away".

Guns 'n' Roses are due to start their Australia tour on June 10 in Perth.

Tickets are still scheduled to go on sale at 9am this Thursday April 26.

Here's hoping and praying that the gigs in Oz still go ahead. I also have tix to Melbourne, Sydney and Brissy and I am soooo excited. I have never been to a Melbourne gig before and I've heard that you guys are great metal fans down there. I can't wait. ;D

Perhaps, if GN'R don't play, then maybe Sebastian can headline with Rose Tattoo? Sounds good to me! How about it Baz???

P.S. Sorry Maz, I didn't explain myself too well....I'm the short-ass that was there with her sister and we stayed at the hotel a few doors down from Sebastian's room. Anyway, I'm sure to run into you somewhere along the way. Have fun if I don't. :D

Here's the latest I've found, Kat, about what Guns are saying about their tour now. No mention on Brazil though. I'm posting it here because I thought others might be interested too. I do feel sorry for the guys after reading what Robin Finck has to say at the end of this.

GUNS N' ROSES havee announced that their 2007 World Tour will begin on June 2 in Monterrey Mexico. The tour had been delayed due to an injury to bassist Tommy Stinson's left wrist. Fortunately, the sprain is healing nicely and soon the band will be ready to rock like only they can.

June will see GN'R perform three concerts in Mexico before heading to Australia and New Zealand. It's been fifteen years since GN'R last performed in Mexico, Australia, or New Zealand and the anticipation is beyond belief. July has GN'R traveling to Japan for a series of rescheduled concerts. "I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, 'I'm here!' What can we do.

"I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friends' couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin' me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I'm swallowing that very pill by your side."


Hopefully that'll be the end of all those nasty rumours about them cancelling Australia.

I have to say it though, I can't get over the fact that both Tommy Stinson and Bobby have BOTH damaged their wrists! What are the odds!?! Actually another friend of mine, who is also a muso, damaged his wrist a week ago too!! No guitar playing for him for a while either. It makes me wonder what the **** is going on!

GUNS N'ROSES SELL OUT AUSTRALIA:

The Australian leg of the Guns n' Roses world tour got off to a great start this morning when shows in Sydney and Melbourne sold out within 30 minutes.

A second show for Melbourne has now been put on sale for Saturday June 16 and a second Sydney show will happened at Acer Arena on June 24. These are the final shows for Australia.

Despite a false start to the world tour following an accident by band member Tommy Stinson, the Aussie fans opened their wallets as a sign of the faith that the show will go on.

Promoter Paul Dainty told Undercover that he expects Brisbane and Adelaide to sell-out today but there will be no more shows.

Dainty also reports there will be no issues with Tommy Stinson by the time the tour is due in Australia. "I've had a medical certificate from the doctor. He will be fine," Paul tells Undercover News. "There was a concern at one stage but he will definitely be okay by the time the Australian tour rolls around".

"It is all systems go," he says. "Stand by for an awesome tour".
