As we're doing a best song ever thread, I thought it might be interesting to ask if there's any song Sebastian's done that you could do without hearing again for any reason. Not meaning to be offensive in any way but we all have different reasons for liking different songs, so I thought it might be interesting to go the opposite way -- just out of curiosity. And I'm sure we could ALL say that we love to hear Sebastian singing anything --- just to hear that incredible voice --- but this is more about the song and/or the lyrics, NOT his singing. It is for me anyway. So the question is -- 'If there's one song that you could do without ever hearing again, what would it be and why?' My vote is for 'I Remember You' for the reasons mentioned on the other thread. I think I've just heard it too many times. I don't even need to hear him sing it again anymore. That song is ingrained in the brain, lol. I can hear him sing it in there whenever I want, lol. Any takers?

Naaaa -- on second thought, I'd MUCH rather have the sweet words of 'I Remember You' ingrained in my brain even more than have the words of 'This is Gonna Hurt' from Absence of Empathy in my brain at all! Those lyrics make my blood run cold and it actually horrifies me that that man could have conjured these images up in his mind to write those lyrics. What sort of mind IS that?? And then to suggest that we all have the potential for that within us? Sorry but Nuh!!!! I don't think so! Definitely 'This is Gonna Hurt' for me.

It's a great CD, as butts said some of the situations in the lyrics can be disturbing and i do agree that we are all capable of many things but something that horrible no. Sebastian has some amazing vocals in there though. p.s catch up w/ you on twitter later, did you mow today? jojo

The lyrics to AoE are meant to be disturbing. It is an AMAZING CD chalk full of melody. Baz sounds AMAZING as always' not 1 bad song on it. If there was ever a song I did not care fore it was Satan's in the manger off the last hard men Kelly sings most of the song & I never cared for it. I often wondered why some of those songs even came out. IMO Baz sang the best songs on the Last hard men & Jimmy did was next, but it should have just been "BAZ"

'The Streak' ... (you had to be there. ..lol) "oh yes they call it the Streak! **the physic... " can't remember all the words but remember the music (and the nude guys running across the stage.. ha!)
wait.. are we talking about Sebastian's songs only? ;D

Got all kinds of instruments Each one plays a different tune A chord of pain, a scale of tears Now don't be a fool A grinding rhythm for your bones A forte for your flesh Help me write my symphony Hear the music make a mess Mwa ha ha ha ha Pure brilliance. Makes ya wanna groove and stamp in a pool of decapitated bodies...*shift look* Now to the hard question - okay, I'll say if you promise not to use the mace. Breakin' Down. For some reason this song has just never really connected. Though, on the other hand, when I'm in need of a Bach Ballad it fits in perfectly alongside By Your Side and Falling into You. Oh, I don't know!

Oh, I don't know! Gosh Pigeonwing, I won't use the mace on you for saying 'Breaking Down' didn't grab you ---- and I can see what you mean about that song going with 'By Your Side' and 'Falling Into You', good one ---- even though I must admit I'm not really into that song much either. I really do like the sentiment in it though. But I might just be tempted to use the mace on you (to protect myself) for saying the lyrics of 'This is Gonna Hurt' make ya "wanna groove and stamp in a pool of decapitated bodies", lol. Did you really mean that or are you just playing?? The lyrics that paint the most disturbing images in my mind are --- We won't stop till you tell the truth No matter what --- I won't believe 'Cause I just like hurting you And that's the truth. Plus This is gonna hurt when I turn it on We'll be real close till the pain is gone -------- This is gonna hurt, gonna make me smile Think I'll make it last for a little while ---- Brutally cold. Sick, evil images in my mind.

I have to say that the only song that i have ever found annoying that had any relations to Baz is the cover of Rod Stewards song "tonights the night" on Bach 2 Basics. And its not Baz's singing that annoyed me but the way the song was arranged which was totally different from the original Rod Steward version( which is a very nice song ). Baz only sang the beginning part of the song .. I dont know who sang the rest of the song ( Kelley Deal maybe.. i dont know) .. but it was painful to listen to as It just murdered a perfectly good song ..Its a pity as when i got bach 2 Basics .. that was one of the songs i was looking forward to listening...and it would have been nice to hear Baz singing it following the original flow

Ace and Jojo -- I agree with you both about the Last Hard Men CD. But I just loooove 'Sleep'. I used to love having it playing when Sebastian had it on loop on sebastianbach.com. I'd let it play over and over, lol. It has a really cool energy that song.

And just in case you (and maybe others) are thinking it, this thread is in NO WAY meant to be negative to Sebastian or the way he performs any of the songs he'd done. He always excels at that.
