And this is Bach in Turku, Caribia!


Oh wow what a weekend!!! Dreams totally came true...
Well, I started to get ready for the evening, do my hair and my make up and oh God I was sooo nervous! My hands were shaking and my stomach was totally full of butterflies =D Funny how a grown up adult can feel like a teenager...
Oh well, we got to Caribia about 40 minutes before the doors opened, had to be sure to get to the front row We got there and I was amazed that there wasn´t any "safety space" there so we were standing attached to the stage - awesome!! I knew this was going to be something so unbelievable!!!
After 1,5 hours of standing there, warm up band started to play and damn they were great! I had seen them earlier this autumn so I knew it was gonna be good rock ´n roll! A perfect start for this awesome evening =)
They played about 40 minutes (?) and then I got so nervous because I knew what was about to come. I´d see Baz there just in front of me rocking like a maniac, oh maaaaaaan... My legs were shaking and I was so anxious!
And then, some sounds started and band members came to the stage on at a time. I was screaming already then but then I saw Baz waiting there in stairs - oh wow he looked amazing! Smiling there and waiting to get to the stage. And I just stared at him and I felt so good. No nervous anymore, just feeling these great vibes! Now it was rock´n roll time!
Band started playing and then Baz came to the stage and holy shit the crowd went nuts! They started with Bach in the saddle and it took only few seconds and Baz was standing just in front of me!! Of course I crabbed his foot =D He stood there and sang and then he started to mosh and his sweat was in my face =D
The gig was awesome - only minus was that in our place, Baz´s voice couldn´t be heard well since we were standing so close and guitar was playing too loud =/ Too bad but that was fixed later and the voice was little better but not enough =(
In the end of show there was also Michael Monroe on stage and man he´s crazy!! They sang together this "Taxi driver" and it was so good to see they both enjoyed it so much!! Fan and fan were jamming together =D It was little scary in the end of song when Mike took the mic stand and started to wave it around and finally smashed it. Rock on \,,/
And so, last song started, "Youth gone wild" and crowd was so rocking!!!!!! I´m sure Baz will remember this crowd, it was so awesome. Between the songs crowd was shouting hey-hey-hey´s several times and we could see Baz was so impressed. There was certainly much feelings going on there. In Baz and in crowd. Perfect.
And that was it, band got away and lights went on. I was just so happy of the gig and at the same time sad because it was over. We stood there some time, in our places and it was worth it - I got Bobby´s and Johnny´s autographs and my husband took a pic of me and Johnny. Cool!!
We had a little chat with these guys but then we had to leave since we didin´t have passes. I got so sad and almost crying since I wanted so badly to meet Baz. Once in a lifetime chance since he was here in our home town. But there was nothing to do so we went away.
In the hallway we saw Nick and of course I went to him and got autograph. I asked if Baz was coming there and he said "I don´t know, he´s in the shower now". Ok, we waited there a while and then Rob came. Aurograph from him too =) And I asked again if Baz was coming here. His answer was "Well, he has to come this way to get to his room". Awesome!! That was my chance to see Baz!
My husband was very hungry and tired and having a little bad mood and I could see in his eyes that he would have wanted to go home. I said to him that you can go but I´ll wait even ´til the morning but I want too meet Baz. My husband stayed there with me and we waited and waited and waited and waited.. Other people were coming there but not Baz =(
And then - after waiting almost 2 hours - door opened and there came Baz!!! I got up from my chair and I was just mumbling ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit all the way I walked towards Baz =D. I was happy and nervous at the same time and then we met and I asked his autograph. First he passed me BUT stopped right away and put his stuff there in table. He gave his autograph and same time asked me "How did you like the gig?" Oh wow - Baz is talking to ME =) I couldn´t say anything else but "Awesome". I was so stuck and shaking all over about this situation that I´ve been waiting for years and years. Then he gave the paper to me and he hugged me <3 <3 <3 My number one idol HUGGED ME!!! I was in seventh heaven and feeling so strongly to that situation. Then I asked him if I could get a photo with him - sure! He took me in his arms and showed thumbs up and my husband took the photo of us. Too bad I only had cellphone camera but better that than no camera at all. Then Baz had a handshake with my husband and he said "You were in the front row and you knew the songs - I like that"! Oh wow!!!
Well, that was it and they went to their rooms and Baz said to us "Seeya!" They were gone and I was just standing there with my autographs and photos. And feeling great - my dreams came true, finally!! Still shaking but now with more happiness, not nervous anymore. We got outside and I yelled a little scream there =D We went home but I couldn´t sleep at all, just thinking about the night and everything that happened =)
Next morning I was so tired but I started to think that I would want to go to Tampere tonight since Baz is playing there this evening. My husband wasn´t that exited first but I said to him that I will go there- with or without you. And after few hours - we were driving together to Tampere =D. We would have got to front row but we were standing about 5 meters of the stage - we wanted to hear "the voice" this time. And we did - gig was awesome!!! And Baz`s voice <3 <3 <3 Perrrrrrfect! There wasn´t that much crowd in Tampere than in Turku but it was still awesome! After the show I bought a t-shirt, a "souvenir" of this weekend to remember my whole life =)
Hope to see Baz again here in Finland - I´m sure some day it´s gonna happen!!

Mr. Youth Gone Wild in Caribia Hotel Turku 12th December 2009

I drove to Turku and saw my dear old friend Piia. We had planned to go out for a sightseeing medieval Turku’s castle etc. Instead of that we went to a Mexican restaurant and had a great lunch and some red wine. We hadn’t seen each other for some time so we had so much to talk about.

In hotel Caribia we had some drinks with Heli and Pauli. They had just driven 500 km only to see Sebastian’s show in Turku. When doors were opened we went to the first row like I did a day before. There we met a young 24 year old Swedish guy who had come alone by a ferry only to see Sebastian. We chatted pretty much with him and what really surprised me was that he had first found Sebastian’s music and after that Skid Row. That was so great to hear. He also told me that he recognized me from Sebastian’s pages Facebook, Myspace etc. Yes, Papillon that’s me ha ha

In Turku and also in Tampere The Grammers were warming up for Sebastian. That’s a not so serious good rock and roll band from Finland. I hadn’t seen them before but now I had a chance to see them too two days in the row. I bought a new Sebastian Bach shirt. They sold those in Turku and Tampere

After them came Sebastian and Co. People loved them! They started their set with Back in the Saddle and then was Slave to the Grind. That’s a tough opening and it hit me like a hammer. Occasionally it felt like it was raining because Sebastian spat the water to the crowd but hey that’s a rock and roll show, lol.

Behind us were standing “two not so nice elder women” who kept pushing me with their elbows. I took their hands off twice and warned them. When they still kept doing that I just jumped backwards to their toes. Don’t fuck with me. I know too how to be a bitch if that’s what you need. I got back some pushes but couldn’t care less of them.

They played Live the Life and Tunnel Vision for the very first time live here in Finland. That suites me fine sir!! I liked a lot of Live the Life songs melody and it’s bluesy kind of style. That song was written by this young and talented guitarist Nick Sterling. (Btw he’s way too cute!) But even more I liked about Tunnel Vision. It’s a heavy song and it’s got a catchy chorus. That song is written by Sebastian Bach and that number guy, John 5 from Rob Zombie. I’m not sure if I say that song is planned to be the first single, I can be dreaming too. LOL.

Let me start this with the info that I’m much of that kind that I don’t cry a lot. Last summer when having one of those tough days I warned my 3,5 year old princess that if you don’t stop that what you’re doing mom begins to cry. She just told me that Mom’s don’t cry. Hmmm… When they played By Your Side once again it was a bit too much for me. I love that song but pretty often I skip that one from the album maybe because it’s too heavy for me. I’m not sure why. But anyways I was struggling not to cry. Damn I’m not going to cry when Baz is on the stage for F sakes so I bit my lip and noticed the next day that I almost had pierced it with my teeth. I got over it and suddenly Baz grabbed my hand and sang “everytime I catch me with tears You are right there by my side”. I’ve got nothing to add on that one.

Second last song was Taxi Driver and Michael Monroe came on the stage. It was crazy. I had been waiting for that for 20 years!! It was pretty funny to watch at it too because we were there on the first row like I mentioned before and there was only big loudspeakers and then the stage. So my neck was pretty achy for watching up all the time but I saw Baz well and really enjoyed the sight. Mike is a wild boy so I bended behind the loudspeakers when he began to swing his microphone and broke a mike stand. They were so close and it really felt that he’ll hit my head with that mike!!

After the show I met Johku from Sebastian’s board and her husband. It was really nice talking with them. They also came to ask me if I am Papillon. Yes I am. They are really nice people. I hope I can speak with them more some day and perhaps drink some beer. That would be fun. Eventually we (me, Piia, Heli and Pauli) ended up to the backstage. Don’t ask me how. I’m not sure either. =

Did we have fun? No… it was better than that. Have to admit that I was pretty tired after being some nites in the hospital with the baby, all the worries and stuff so I felt that my head was pretty empty. I felt like I don’t remember what the heck I’m speaking in Finnish so you can only guess how it feels to like to speak English. I hugged Baz several times and he signed one of my Angel Down albums, spoke with him about many different things and I felt that I should duck tape my mouth because I really felt that English was so shitty shitty dang dang that day. Maybe it was the booze also… all the gin tonics, red wine, hmmm. So I kind of left him to speak with other people in peace.

I had worn my same rock and roll boots for two days and those boots were just killing my feet. I just sat down to the floor and took my boots off. Suddenly I hear Baz laughing: You’ve got nice rock and roll boots there. Looked around and saw that he meant me. Thanks! If there’s anyone who reads this, tell me one thing. Is it rude in USA, Great Britain etc to take your boots off when there are other people? Here in Finland when it’s not “an official meeting” it is not rude so it really natural for me to take them off. Piia did the same with her shoes.

I was talking to Bobby and asked him if he knew where I could smoke. I understood immediately from his eyes that I said something weird. I corrected him smoke my cigarettes. Well it’s fun to learn English in practice. I talked with Bobby quit a lot. He was surprised how well Finns speak English. You want to know what was funny? Bobby asked me am I the one who has newborn baby. Yes I am. How did he know that??!! LOL.

Heli’s hubby Pauli took great pix there and I can’t wait to get those pix. We met Michael Monroe there too, talked to Nick Sterling and to Rob too. Now I really like Bobby and Rob. They are super cool guys and so polite. Well Baz has got a piece of my heart in 1989 so I don’t need to mention him, or do I? ;-) Someone told me that it looked like two friends were talking when I was talking with him. He’s so open and talkative and he’s my friend on Myspace. .

We took a taxi to our hotel with Piia and I couldn’t sleep, only about 3-4 hours. I couldn’t wait for the next day’s rock and roll show.
