To open the shows of the “Chinese Democracy World Tour”, from GUNS N’ ROSES, nothing better than choose the musician and long time friend of Axl Rose, SEBASTIAN BACH, ex-frontman of SKID ROW. The musician performed for 38,000 fans last saturday, 13th, on Palestra Itália, São Paulo.

Without waste of time, Sebastian Bach began the show with the explosive “Slave To The Grind”, from the record of the same name released in 1991. With a heavier album, it marked Skid Row on the world's hard rock scene. The album got the band, back then, the opening spot on the tour of “Use Your Illusion” of GUNS N' ROSES on the USA, Canada and Europe.
Beyond the current body's beauty, that helped to get the female audience, the eternal leader of SKIS ROW still has an incredibly powerfull voice. The vocals on “Back In The Saddle” (AEROSMITH), “Big Guns” and “Here I Am” are exemple of the current vitality of this artist that thanks, in a messy portuguese, for coming back to the country. “We are very happy to be here. Today, São Paulo the the capital of Rock! We waited for so long to play here!"
To make justice for the stage designed with images from the excellent solo album “Angel Down” (2007), Sebastian plays “Stuck Inside” to, in sequence, blow up on “Piece Of Me”, one of the hits from he first album “Skid Row” (1989), that sold more than 6 millions copies around the world.
Raising the brazilian flag, Sebastian throws the delirious ballad “18 and Life”, from his ex-band, fallowed by the new songs “American Metalhead”, that became “Brazilian” Metalhead with the help of a sign trhown on stage by the public, and “Stabbin’ Daggers” begins with full power. “Get off the floor, São Paulo! and “Get your feets up!”, is screamed by the vocalist and the crowd responded immediately to the request.
With the help of the young guitarist and a little shy Nick Sterling, Sebastian introduces the ballad “In a Darkned Room” to para infatuate the feminine audience paralyzed bear the front row by the beauty and the performance of the singer.
Running on the stage side to side, using the mic by it's string to spin it around and make jugglings, Sebastian got pissed with the stage staff. “You have to be more aweare!” – complains with a roadie that can't straight up the cable so Sebastian can run to the other side of the stage.
Taking the little incident aside, “Monkey Business” is the next to warm the night with the ex-frontman from SKID ROW changing the shirt in front of the audience. With the writing “Sebastian – Tião”, on a shirt of the brazilian team, made by two fans. They handed him the shirt in Brasília, and he wore it since then on every show in Brasil.
To calm down the girls' mood, two more songs from the new record were played: the ballad “By Your Side” and the heavy metal “You Don’t Understand”. Coming back to the classics, the next and awesome song sang by everyone was “I Remember You”, single written by Rachel Bolan (bass) with Dave “The Snack” Sabo (guitar), current members of SKID ROW.
Following up, Sebastian, very carismatic and excited, introduces a new song that can be added on his next record. The night ends with “(Love is) A Bitchslap” and Sebastian gives the tone of the next song pointing to the tattoo on his arm. The brutal “Youth Gone Wild” is sang powerfully by the musician.
Sebastian Bach, next with Nick Sterling (guitar), Johnny Chromatic (guitar), Bobby Jarzombeck (drums) and Rob DeLuca (bass) ended the night with a long salute, it looked like the band didn't want to get off the stage. The public screamed loud and clear the name of Sebastian Bach. He looked laughing and clumsy tot he audience. Fixed his hair, spinned his head from one side to another and covered his face with hs hands, simply don't believing on that scene. It didn't look like that rock star ovationated in the 90's.
