Hey Freaks!!
I wanted to take a moment to talk about the Allentown show last July.
Thanks to Ette, who ROCKS, and BAM.....who also ROCKS....we were able to show my son Tony a great time for his 21st birthday.
Long story short, Tony had been injured in Bootcamp (ARMY) and had to have surgery on his hand due to a shattered finger.
While recooping in the hospital, he contacted a servere bacterial infection in both his eyes which was literally beginning to deteriorated the retina.
Unfortunatly, he was given a medical discharge. He was so devistated by being discharged because he really wanted to join the Army (it's a family tradition/honor).
He then began struggling with a really horrible bout of depression, and my husband and I had NO idea how to help him (after trying some professional counseling and lot's of "mom and son" chats on our front porch...)
Then we got wind that Sebastian was playing in Allentown and would be there on July 22nd which was Tony's 21st birthday!!
Financially, we were at rock bottom (my husband and I both started new jobs within two weeks of eachother plus, Tony had NO coverage for the injuries sustained while in the military (don't even get me started!!) so my husband and myself had to use a lot of our savings to help to pay for the meds /doctor's/specialist visits needed to save Tony's eye sight. So, how would we be able to get tickets to the show??
I posted a note on the old message board, explaining our situation and some WONDERFUL people helped us....
My dad even got us a room up the street at a hotel just a few blocks from the night club.
We met Bam before the show,. talked with him, thanked him over and over for what he had done for us (this dude didn't even know us, nor did Ette but, they cared enough to help...)
He told us to make sure and hang out after the show so we could meet with Sebastian.
The show started, and Sebastian opened with Slave To The Grind (ripped the friggin' roof off the building, I SWEAR!!)...
Tony, who was standing to the right of me, had actually broke a smile! For the first time in weeks, I saw my son, actually, SMILE!
That smile lead to some, fist pumpin' some screamin' and whistlin'! The whole show was TOO awesome to describe, simply friggin' awesome!!
We waited in line after the show with everyone else, my husband met Sebastian first, then me (Sebastian told me I smelled nice and asked what I was wearing...then he had everyone ROLLING because I asked him to sign an autograph for my best friend, "Crummie" ! He kept saying, "Her name is Crummie??? What the fuck kinda' name is Crummie???!!" )Laughing out Loud!!
When I left the table, I introduced him to Tony, Sebastian must have known who Tony was and why he was there. He spent about 15 minutes, talking to Tony, asking him if he enjoyed his 21st birthday, honored Tony by leading a standing ovation for doing the Army thing...You guys, I cannot beging to tell you, as a mom, what it did to my heart to see my son's face, actually looking happy.
Sebastian's kindness will never be forgotten my me and my family.
As we were walking back to the hotel, Tony was so quiet, just thinking and walking, and he grabs my hand, and goes, "Mom, I just met Sebastian Bach...how awesome is THAT??? And he actually looked ME in the eyes and talked to me...I really mattered..."
He received a small check in the mail the very next day, the first thing he did was ask my husband if he could pay for the two of them to go again THAT night to Townsen MD to see the show and say Thanks to everyone.
So, off they went, and he came back with more pictures (that night he stood with the band for a photo (he AGAIN rattled on and on about how COOL everyone was) He talked with Sebastian again, but the highlight THAT night was meeting Maria!
He's like mom, Sebastian is ONE lucky man! She is FINE and she was SO nice!!.
Thanks SO much for letting me share...
Sebastian, you and everyone mentioned in this "BOOK" (LOL) are in my heart...
LOVE you guys!
