Hello everyone, I was wondering, whatever happened to that guy that played "Ricky" in the video? didnt he have a band? what was his name?

Humm..Ricky was a young boy, He had a heart of stone. Lived 9 to 5 and worked his fingers to the bone. Just barely got out of school, came from the edge of town humm...He had no money and no good at home and I bet he was 18 !
No really I have no idea haha

No problem! ;D Well I checked, here's some info,not much, but here it is. I used to be in brief contact with some guy who knew "Ricky" and wrote to him several times and got to do some of their cd artwork.He was in a band called "Forgotten Child."If anyone can find any info on the band, I would appreciate very much! ;D So I'm just gonna copy and paste what he wrote to me, if that's ok with you  "Back in 1990, I wrote to Forgotten Child and sent them some artwork. The drummer of Forgotten Child wrote me pretty regularly and they even used some of my drawings as flyers and magazine ads. Anyway, here's some more info on the band: Albums: # 1. "Forgotten Child" (self titled) # 2. "Rock 'n Roll Salvation" Band members: (I'm not sure on a few of their full names anymore, it's been 15 years.) Bernie Menis (Drums and "Ricky's" friend in the 18 & Life video that gets shot.) John & Pat (One of them is the lead singer/"Ricky" but I can't remember which.  and Trace Douglass (Bass) W.D. Krash (Lead Guitar) (they both replaced original members: Michael Tallman and D. Volpe.) Back when Bernie wrote me letters, this was long before E-mail, so all I had to go on was phone numbers and their address. The fan club address was: Forgotten Child 6546 Hollywood Blvd. Suite # 201 Box 158 Hollywood, CA 90028 I'm sorry it's not more, but I hope it helps. " |

whoop..waite...found something else...the band split up..and the last known line up was
John Mandi- Vocals, Guitar and Bass
Bernie Mandi - Drums, Vocals....John was probably "Ricky"

a friend of mine told me about this post and suggested i create an account and answer it... So here goes.. My name is Trace.. I played Bass for Forgotten Child for about two years. up until the band broke up in 1990ish..Bernie and John are brothers.. Bernie went by Menis and played drums..John played guitar and wrote most of the songs.. Patrick was the singer of FC. and he played Ricky in the video and Bernie played his friend.. They actually were as crazy as the video showed..The Band gathered alot of Momentum with that video and we actually did a very succesful U.S. tour in 1989.. But Nirvana came out and that was that my friend..Music as we knew it changed forever, and yes it was sad at the time.. Last I heard Pat the singer was in Florida, John is still in Los Angeles playing music, making records.. Not sure about Menis.. I engineer and produce records...And life goes on and on....Hope that helps...

To anyone still reading this post....I found him.....I met him today while out delivering food to the homeless. He told me his story and I was in awe so I came home and started researching him and found this. I live in fort pierce florida. He is a very sweet man and I helped him out with a sleeping bag today. Please contact me for more info. If anyone is looking for him I know his location.

My aunt Carol dated Patrick a long time ago probably early 1990 when this happened.. I believe she took him back with her from Los Angeles to Orlando Florida where my grandmother lived. She said he was fuckin crazy, loved vodka and after stabbing my grandmother's door with a knife she ended the relationship. He told her he had 100,000 fans and she said ok well have them all send you a dollar. That was the last time she talked to him. Lol I think the story is quite funny.. Apparently he was much like "Ricky" in real life

Just discovered Forgotten Child about 2 weeks ago,the Forgotten Child song is playing every day since then

Wow. I remember Forgotten Child and Patrick. I remember his name being Patrick Kane. Way back in the early 90s or late 80s, I hung out with him & his band mates. He was really a nice guy. He was wild & fun but sweet. I let him & friends crash at my place after they played out. In rocker fashion, they ate all of my food & drinks. Haha!! I always wondered what happened to him. Long ago, but I remember him. Truly sweet. He kept randomly saying lyrics… very cool guy.
