There is an interview with Skid Row with french subtitles, it was done in Montreal. Yeah I know it, cuz I had it on tape...
Well you are going to hear a bit more of Baz speaking french, he said at the begining of this interview something like: Nous sommes Skid Row, vous écoutez Solid Rock on stereo". Its cool to hear him speaking french! But the french part in Paris, I laughed my ass off lol, poor old woman, she doesnt understand any words of what Baz said lol...

It was hilarious when Baz was talking French and the old couple couldn't understand anything.  Then Baz sang "Since I was born they couldn't hold me down..." And don't forget Baz's sad puppy face when they couldn't take the camera to the cemetary with them. How many years did he study French? Maybe not so many years, I guess. |

Well, Canada is officially bilingual (French and English) and most children in grade school learn French and often continue on after that. But, you don't have to be schooled in French to know French in Canada. It is just part of the culture, so it is not hard to pick it up. The kind of French Sebastian displayed in the video is basic French. I doubt he is fluent and could carry on a 10 minute conversation since he had some trouble understanding the woman in the video. When he kept asking her if she heard of Skid Row or Youth Gone Wild, she responded, I think, by saying: "Do you know who I am?" (I think that was what she said) and then Sebastian repeated in English jokingly what he thought she said, which was: "you want to do what with me?!!!" (which was a sexual reference).
Actually, the woman wasn't asking him that. I believe she said (in French): "Saviez-vous......", which in English means: "Do you know....". I guess since Sebastian kept asking her if she knows this or that, she responded by asking him if he knew (Savoir is the French verb for "to know") something as well. It is hard to catch on the video exactly what she was referring to.
Perhaps Purple could clarify since she is from Quebec.

hehe well good point you got there cuzz I don't know if people outside Quebec learn french like we do learn english..but yeah
Sebastian said "es-ce que tu parles anglais?" which means do you speak english and she answered no..so she sure didn't understand a (*?&! of what Sebastian was asking her for about 10 minutes long lol and as he said.." moi, je parle un petit peu francais " * Aww his accent is killing me! way too cute*
but then she asked Sebastian " Que voulez-vous savoir de moi? " which means something like " What do you wanna know from me? " since he kept asking about him and skid row * come on..she's 81 lol * so yeah Sebastian probably understood something like what do u wanna do from me or to me..whatever sexual reference hehehe

Thanks Purple, I was born in Montreal, but I am an Anglophone and I now live in Toronto, so my French is a bit rusty and the woman's voice seemed to trail off in the video.

I was surprised when i saw (some times ago) on this dvd that Sebastian can speak some french. But at the beginning of a concert in Japan, the dvd starts by Skid Row walking to the stage on backstage and an japanese host with glasses say something, then Sebastian come back quickly to say something that I understand like 'Merci', that means 'thanks', but as he jokes it's go like 'me-me-me-mer-ci !'

Hahaha! I just realized the old woman thinks sebastian is talking about cross-country skiing lol!! Skid Row...Ski de fond hahah ok..I'm watching this video too much..but I got my VHS so I'll watch it now hehe byyeeeee ;D

damn that sucks.....i tried to make DVD copies of mine since i hate using VHS tapes...but no success....maybe you can send it back and get another one...or you can try purchasing another one all together...@ @
