First concert I ever saw was Ted Nugent. I started liking country music in 2004 because of Toby Keith, stayed because of the incredible voice of Ronnie Dunn. His range has only been matched(maybe surpassed) by Sebastian. Those 2 voices blow my mind. Now I have nothing against metal or any music but if he's not singing country I would prefer to hear him do just Rock. Hell he could sing the alphabet and I'd listen! That said, who's been to Nashville? I went in 2005 for music festival. Love Nashville(going back soon). Loved the Wildhorse Saloon(hence my name). Want to visit the CMT bldg. but I might get thrown out. Anyway, can you picture Sebastian playing@ Titan's Stadium? The concert heard round the World! Favorite food? Mine's salmon or anything Italian. Love this thread. Let's keep it going. Mick,B&D will be in Melbourne around May 4 or 6. whats b&d ??

Yes it was the Nassau Coliseum show where Axl kept the fans waiting for over 2 and a half hours after Skids finished their set. I have been to nearly 1,000 concerts starting back in 1964, and seen my favs multiple times each, Skids 10+, GNR 12, Metallica 3, Crue about 15. And of course my absolute Fave SEBASTIAN almost 100 times. (50 of those were his Broadway shows) I think you get the idea. There was a time between 1987 and about 1993 that Me and my Daughters went to as many as 3 shows in a weekend. I know I saw two shows in one night, Bryan Adams at the Meadowlands in New Jersey with Jeff Healey opening, then L.A. Guns at L'amour in Brooklyn, which was on the way home. Bryan Adams was a 7'Oclock show, L.A. Guns was well after a midnight start, so though we missed the opening act at L'Amour, we did see the whole L.A. Guns set.

You are worthy. You can PLAY music, I never could learn.
You also forget that I have about 25 years on you, and I lived in NY. In the city, it is not a matter of if someone is playing, it is who's playing where, though in recent months metal and hard rock shows have become less frequent. I do have one regret, although I have seen all 4 Beatles as solo artists, I never did get to see the Beatles as a group. I was 13 and my mother wouldn't let me go, even though I had the ticket money and a way to get there. Obviously, I still tell the story, and that is why when my 2 daughters started wanting to go to shows, I tried never to say NO. I used to look like some kind of Rocknroll girlscout troop. I would always have my girls and at least 2 friends each with me at shows. Their friends are the ones who gave me my screenname, long before the internet was even common.

Mick, you know I'm country. Brooks and Dunn. Most of the concerts I've seen are country. I listened to Rock exclusively until a few years ago. Stopped because I didn't like any of the new singers. and got tired of listening to oldies all the time. But I like Sebastian!

I think a lot of the recent Country Music sounds a lot like early rock n roll. I mean Elvis had country and gospel roots. I'm not a big country music fan, I like some of the older stuff like Patsy Cline. My husband likes Country. His favorite is Marty Robbins. I am also into Irish music and from the days I used to dance, Arabic music. My taste to say the least is very eclectic. I will listen to anything live. The only types of music that I can honestly say I don't love are reggae and rap, but even then I will listen to it played live. Reggae is HUGE out here in Hawaii. It is a little funny to see a bunch of blonde haired blue eyed guys with dreads trying to be Jamaican.

I myself am a country fan. I like other music as well. Some rock. Classic country and rock. I love Patsy Cline. I can not listen to rap at all. Sebastian I will listen to over and over again. My favorite band I would say is Alabama. I know they don't play anymore, but I still like them. Toby Keith, Trace Atkins, Garth Brooks, George Strait and Alan Jackson are some of my favorite male singers. Reba and Carrie Underwood are my favorite female singers. I followed Carrie from the beginning of American Idol. Now Carrie needs to give new artists (Sebastian) a chance to make it like she had the chance.

I guess I will have to log in to country weekly and read about it. Naomi was and still is awesome. I wish the Judds would do more music again. Martina is good. So is Faith Hill. Can't forget Tim McGraw.

Ok well this is an interesting thread well done newbachfan.. thought I would add my story better late than never Ok well I am 34 years old, do not remember that happening cause most days I feel like I am 25 but then other days I feel 65.... Met my husband when I was 19, and as corny as it sounds he truly is my best friend... we have two young Boys 6 year old and 3 year old, I am lucky enough to be stay at home Mum, sometimes I miss work but then Love the fact I get to go to all school things and do all the school stuff, I do alot of fundraising stuff for the school too so that keeps me busy, I have a great group of friends and we are always up to something, so really do not know where I would fit in work... I am a night owl and am up till all hours of the night, must admit I do enjoy the quite time of night when kids are asleep. But I hate mornings so not a morning person... I do not think anyone's day should start before 11am.... We live in a country town, I grew up in Brisbane but moved out here about 3 years ago, it is about an hour from Brisbane, I love the lifestyle we do not have acreage as yet but all my friends do, and I love it kids can run around and be kids and when they are older they can have dirt bikes or horses or what ever but the space is unbelievable... and everyone knows everyone and so friendly I visit Brisbane now and cannot wait to get home... and even though it is a country town it has everything you need anyway or a short drive... Only one thing I can complain about is no taxi's so a night out in town is no fun cause you always have to have a designated driver.. We have 3 pets a cockatiel named Jazz, a Hermit Crab Named Optimus Prime, (can anyone guess the kids name the pets and guess what there favourite movie is) and we have a new Maltese Puppy Named Maxine, Max for short... she is at that puppy ripping everything up stage and seems to have developed a love for toilet paper? so I have toilet paper all over the house most days.... Also love Buffy and Angel have them all on DVD, and so want them to make a Buffy and Angel Movie... Thought final Buffy episode was great but Final Episode of Angel left me wanting more seemed unfinished to me... and I miss my buffy and Angel Fix... hate that most of my favourite show are no longer on air... So really no longer watch alot of TV... mainly on computer these days.... and Love my Music... we listen to anything and everything here... all though I love my Metal I listen to lots of different music depending on my mood at the time... and what I am doing... Ok I am gonna shut up now enough about me...

If you liked Buffy and Angel, have you watched True Blood? It's a little bit raunchier, but it is the story of a mortal girl in love with a vampire. I would also reccommend the Twilight series of books. Same plot device, very different story. I read all 4 books and am probably going to see the movie this coming weekend.

I havent seen him in anything else, but his True Blood character is dumb as a rock!!! He plays the local horndog and brother of the main female charecter Sookie. To quote her "you're too dumb to even pour piss out of a boot" But I think he's adorable. And you do see A LOT of him.

It's kind of funny that your band was Poison, because that is one of the first concerts I took my younger daughter to. We of course went together over this summer for her to see Poison and me to see Baz. Poison has become part of our summer show tradition. They usually play at Jones Beach, and it almost always rains. This year, surprisingly, it stayed a beautiful clear summer night. I'm sure your boys will appreciate going to shows with you, at least at first. I saw GNR with both of my daughters, and my older one who was 19 at the time, had me laughing like crazy, she said she told one of her friends "how can you rebel against a mom who looks at GNR and says they are awesome? And then buys the tickets for you to go see them. "

I might get shot down for saying this as I dont know how many P!NK fans there are out there but I am taking my eldest son to his very first concert in June next year and yep the first concert for him is PINK. He loves her music and I think shes an awesome singer, I love that punchy voice she has....my missus and myself saw her last year and she puts on an AMAZING live show, very entertaining, and im so excited that we are going to be taking the young fella to his first big concert experiance, we have fantastic seats as well so hes going to get to take it ALL in....his age? .......um......(gulp)....7 years old. Ive already got some big earmuffs to protect him.....I was 7 when KISS first came to Australia. I was DESPERATE to go, but mum said no...my Brother was lucky enough to go, he was 13 at the time....ive never forgotton how I wasnt allowed to go to that concert and whilst I can understand the reasons, I figure this is myself and my missus both going as well, its a safe environment, my son loves PINKs music, so why not? I cant wait to take him!! I cant wait to see the look on his face when it all starts up and the lights come on, the crowd roars and that music kicks in, I hope its something he will never forget.....hes either going to absoluetly love it, or be scared out of his head and will want us to take him home hehehe....hes got that "glint" in his eye of being a rocker so hopefully he'll be into it.

Mick, anything by Keith Urban might appeal to you if you're mainly rock. Maybe some Rascal Flatts. A lot of people say they're not country because they have a crossover sound.I'll think of somemore and let you know.

I think it's cool that you are taking your son's taste in music into consideration. I am sure he will love it. Pink is on the rock side anyway. Because I have two daughters with very different tastes, I've seen some "strange" shows for a metalhead and actually enjoyed them. My older daughter was a young teen at the height of New Kids mania, and I went as far as camping out with her, over night to get tickets for one of their shows. So on my list of performers I've seen, are NKOTB, Backstreet Boys and Chase from the Mickey Mouse Club that produced Brittney and Justin. I took my 7 year old neice to her first concert, Aaron Carter. She is now at 13 into rap. You have to let kids hear everything so they can make up their minds as to what their own favorite kind of music is.

We took our kids (11, 10 & 5) to see Jason Aldean (country singer) back in April. I love taking my kids to concerts with me, we've taken then to quite a few.
I was raised on Country music but quickly (thanks to my big bro) found out I loved rock music. Sebastian's been one of the steady faves all these years. I also love, Def Leppard (who recently did crossroads with Taylor Swift), Poison, Ozzy, Alice in Chain's etc.
