My favorite place in the whole world is Blackbeard's Isle aka Okracoke Isle, North Carolina, in my state ! It's GORGEOUS and there are even still wild horses that run on the shore.. there is still the Tavern where Blackbeard the Pirate used to go and drink and stay.... me and my hubby visit there at least twice every summer..

I havent travelled far, but ive been to Fiji and that is the most beautiful place, tropical, amazing beaches and people, a beautiful place..I would go back in a second and we are planning to next year, depending on the $$$'s.. If you get to go back, don't forget pictures. Would love to see pictures of Fiji. Fiji sounds like a good place to be. |

hey all...if any of you are experiancing Winter right now...heres some warmth for you.
Yesterday my city, Melbourne Australia, reached 43.7c which is 110.66 farenheit. Today it is expected to push the hottest day EVER recorded here, which was 45.6 (114 f) in 1938, and tommorrow we are again going to get 43 (110f )...we had 40 on Tuesday as well and if we hit over 40 for 4 days in a row it will be the first time in over 110 years that its happened.
Our public transport system has pretty much shut down, the Train lines have actually BUCKLED in the heat.....we have 10,000 Firefighters on standby becuse we have been in a Drought for 13 years and the place is on the verge of going up in flames....and yet my friend in Chicago tells me he will be happy just to see the temperature CLIMB over there to freezing point!!!
Its amazing how one side of the earth is at its coldest ever and the other side is at its hottest ever.....so all you guys who are freezing...stay warm, while I go and stick my head in the freezer over here for a while!!
Damn its hot.

Damn its hot. Wow it sounds like everyone has issues at the moment. I feel for you in that heat, when its cold you can warm up but when its seriously hot its hard to get cool. We had sleet, freezing rain and a truck load of snow here the last couple of days. I love having several acres of land but.........the stupid driveway is almost an acre long. You could park 10+ cars nose to truck in a pinch, lets just say its ice covered and going to stay that way for a while.. Got more snow coming our way tomorrow night. I love winter and the snow but I'm ready for spring. :)You and Aussiegirl are probably having the same problem as I am. Its hard to keep the kids entertained when its to hot or cold to be outside. |

Hahah yep and im an idiot because i decided to give up BEER for 50 days right in the middle of a Heatwave!!!! An ice cold Beer on a hot night is PERFECT....alas I have sworn off it....I can feel myself caving in under the pressure though!!
Rain??? Whats THAT??? We havent had rain for MONTHS!! Our water storage levels are sitting at 30% the lowest in history....we cant water our gardens, cant wash the car, have to limit our showers to 4min maximums to save water....we are running out of water in Melbourne. Sounds silly I know, seeing as Australia is surrounded by Ocean.

Hey all Back again School Holidays over now maybe I can get back to some normal computer time LOL Still trying to tidy house though little people make a mess...Missed you all... Wow cannot believe the heat there dogface.. usually Queensland has that kinda heat but has not been too bad here this summer all though some hot days nothing like that yet... Our dams are starting to fill now we have had a bit of rain lately, I live near one of the main dams of Queensland Wivenhoe.. and a little history here... but wivenhoe they basically where in rush to build dam and they took around 200 old farm house to make dam, they where in such a rush they never cleared the land just basically flooded it.. Wivenhoe got so low that you could actually see the ruins that have been underwater for 20 years .. My friend and I use to love going fossicing there... found lots of old stuff we would walk for hours... I just loved it so interesting... but now Wivenhoe is pretty much full again we are still on water restrictions though I think no matter how much rain we get they will never stop restrictions... I miss the long showers and washing car, and playing under hose sad kids cannot do that one... |

I've always heard that Australia gets HOT and DRY.... My hubby's always wanted to visit Australia but I asked him that we save up our dough in case Baz goes on Tour this year!  Here in NC, in summer, it can easily get to 104-105 degrees with the humidity so high that you're sweating again as soon as you take a shower and dry off...but LA is even worse.. Hey have any of you guys been watching that Brett Michaels 'love bus' thingy?? Me and hubby watched an episode where some airhead chick asked Brett if his hair was real or hair extension and he kicked her off the bus.............My husband laughed so hard I think he bust a gut.. |
