Yes well all the Sydneysiders had their chance to meet Baz last year, and Melbourne never got the opportunity, so I hope that any In Store appearances that happen this time happen in Melbourne!!!!

Thanks heaps for emailing Seb on my behalf! I'm in Queensland myself, so Sydney and Melbourne last year would've been out for me anyway! I do get free bus travel with Greyhound Australia, but I'm not travelling 1000 kms plus on a chance that I might get into the meet'n'greet sessions. Sorry! But I don't have time for that between study and all! Brisbane would be easy for me but! Only 90 mins away and I have free accommodation! Here's hoping! And here's hoping I get ticket's to the 2nd Brisbane show! The first one is 'sold out'! BUGGER!

I realise that celeb's have running costs to pay for and that's why they charge for meet'n'greet sessions, but it's too expensive in Australia. I met one celeb last year (I won't name name's) and we were fortunate enough to meet him for free, because of certain circumstances, but he was charging $30 at his official meet'n'greet sessions for a photograph and autograph! The celeb's have to realise that with most of their fans being the younger generation (under 18's), that they don't usually have $30 in a flash to spend. I know I don't and I'm 34! So I hope that celeb's take note in the future and knock their prices down a bit. Sorry to babble! lol!

Paul Stanley from KISS was charging $250 for a meet and greet after the show last month.
That got you probably 20 seconds of his time (if that) plus ONE item signed and ONE official photo....you were not allowed to bring your own camera and if you had more than ONE thing you wanted signed you had to leave all the other stuff at the door and just take one item in with you.

I didn't know he was in town last year either! $250 is outrageous! I wouldn't pay that for ANYONE! I understand the one item only deal though, otherwise they'd be with one person for hours each time! They have that rule at 'Dukesfest', the Dukes Of Hazzard festival in Nashville. One item only, because there are so many people to get through, but you can take your own camera.

How do you know dogface? You didn't let yourself get ripped off like that did you, or do you know someone else who did? I've never heard of Seb charging for a meet'n'greet myself and I'd be surprised if he ever did as, if he chooses to do one, he seems to enjoy it as much as the fans from what I've read. Has anyone else on the board ever heard of Seb charging for a meet'n'greet?

never heard of Sebastian charging. [not that I know of anyhow] I'd feel 'handled', then 'processed' - yuck! (right in the middle of having a blast? ) (also, it sort of says the artist has 'favorites' )...just becomes more of an 'untouchable' and a little less exciting (imo) Understand the limit on the # of items though

With regards to the Paul Stanley thing....when the Tickets went on sale you could also purchase the Meet n Greet ticket at $250 dollards....mind you, the tickets for the first half of the venue (about 15 - 20 rows) were ALSO $250 bucks...so to see Paul live and meet him for 30 seconds you had to pay $500 AUSTRALIAN Dollars ($413.00 U.S).....now, im a MASSIVE KISS fan, have been for 30 years, but there was no way in hell I was going to pay that kind of money. I went to the show, and it was fantastic, but I paid the "reasonable" price of $90 bucks for my ticket up the back. Paul Stanley is fantastic, dont get me wrong, but $500 bucks......STICK IT!!!

Wow must be something about Kiss hey cause I still have a giggle at Gene Simmons not giving Baz a phone case wasn't it ( I read it on another thread here), I totally get the signing of only one item, two would be better though, cause if I met Baz I want something signed for my best friend cause she cannot go, but then that would mean me missing out. I see no harm in a camera of your own, hell I would still pay for a photo if I had too but I like the candid shots too. but $250 dollars to meet your idol is a bit rough, I am in shock at that one. Dogface do you know how many people paid how long was he there for ? For $250 I would expect a dinner date LOL. Bcdr07 I am dying to know who your $30 artist is, Mind you he sounds reasonable now LOL, But I agree I do not think Baz would charge cause he seems to enjoy his fans.

I heard that there were about 40 at the Brisbane show for the Meet n Greet, and 50 at the Melbourne show...not sure about Sydney. They would have definately been the Hard Core fans, the ones with KISS Tattoos all over their bodies and stuff....anwyay thats $22,500.00 right there from Bris and melb...im sure he would have had similar numbers in South Australia and Perth....ahhh good luck to him if people are willing to pay it!!
Baz wouldnt charge. He's a great bloke.

I like Kiss, but there is something about Hard core Kiss fans that freak me out, I remember years ago, I went into this 24 hr servo, and the guy behind the counter and I got chatting he told me how he works all the double shifts etc cause he follows kiss around he goes to every concert all over the world, anyway I said wow you must love kiss, I said I like them but I wish they never took there make up off, cause now we know they are not the most attractive men, I said it as a joke and man I copped some abuse from him, about how Gene Simmons, would not care what I think cause he has thousands of women lining up to sleep with him, and I though humm buddy I think you want to sleep with Gene too. but honestly he went right off, I was a little scared LOL.

Hard Core fans: that's why I am getting seats for Seb's show! I know exactly what Seb/Gunner's fans will be like on the floor and I'm too old for that crap! LOL! I'm too old to be squashed up against the barriers and trying to breathe and coughing my guts out at all the cigarette smoke and whatever other smoke you get down there! You're there in the room at least, it's the thought that counts right?

I must say there are poeple out there that would pay to meet Baz, as I am one of them. I do think it's a bit crazy to have to pay to meet your idol, but thier time is of value. My Husband charges $30 for half an hour of his time, and he is a Golf Pro, my accountant charges $220 per hour, the list goes on.... so I do see the other side of the story. Lots of us have a price on our time, as sad as it sounds, and I would work for a month to pay to meet Baz, it would be worth every cent!!!

Oooh bc you are NEVER too old to ROCK!!! (says he who also got seats.....HAHAHAHAHA!!!!) LOL! Maybe we can reminisce about our youth together in our seats at the show! Hee hee! Or maybe Sebastian can give me some tips on how to get my youth back! He is actually older than me, but he obviously feels younger than I do! My youth is gone!

Kat I heard Ace Frehley charged by the letter so I hope message was not to long. ;D Dogface, bcdr07 Well I to will be sitting down at Gun 'N Roses too, I wanted to stand, but no one else did and truthfully I am to old to get squashed too. Still think it would have been fun though. Maz If it where only me I too would pay to see Baz, I agree with your time thing, we have to pay for everyone else's time, but it is hard to justify paying to meet someone when you have family commitments Plus I also agree with Savage, stars are only people, and truthfully with out fans what are stars, I do not think Baz would charge so I hope he does do some meet and greets for free, Cause I think if I said to my husband I met Baz and it cost me $250, he would say to me that is nice dear, divorce papers will arrive tomorrow. ;D

I dont understand why a "star" would have to charge when you have already paid to purchase CD's, Merchandise AND Concert Tickets...and in most cases the Meet n Greet is after the show when the "star" is sitting back having a Beer or getting ready to leave the venue. In my mind, ive already paid because ive spent $30 on a CD, $45 on a T Shirt and $100+ on a concert Ticket. Why should I have to pay more just to shake their hand and say hello? Im 100% against paying to go to a meet n greet. Dosent matter who it is., if your a fan and youve outlaid money on the artist then you shouldnt have to pay again!!

As far as I'm concerned, those artists who do a MNG and don't charge for are the ones who genuinely care about and feel an empathy with the fans and are grateful to them for relating to their music and buying it so they can keep doing it. In other words, they feel friendly towards their fans and honestly appreciate them. In contrast, those who charge their fans are putting the relationship purely on a business basis i.e. I want to make even more money out of you - that's what you're there for and what I'm doing this for. Don't even think about being friends or that I'll care about you. All I'll do is play nice for the camera and then dismiss you from my mind and then pat myself on the back for proving again how POPULAR and LOVED I am. All the money I make proves that for the whole world to see and lets me indulge myself even more. Feel priviledged you're getting even a few minutes of my valuable time sucker! And the more they charge, the bigger their ego and appetites are. And those who never even do a MNG are probably self-centred - tied up in their own little worlds - and only doing the music for themselves ultimately. If someone likes it, fine, if not, who cares. But yes, I'll accept the money for record sales 'cause that means I can keep indulging in my own emotional dramas and enjoy myself. Just keep all those scary, demanding fans away from me so I don't have to think about anyone else's lives and feelings but my own thankyou. A little harsh maybe?

I do however know some artists (musical) who are just plain and simply shy. The thought of a meet and greet sends them into a spin, heart palpatations, sweating bullets, or at the very least running for the exit. I've seen one guy do it, but was so darn uncomfortable, well.. it was rough. Thing is, while at the same time, during the show, they burned the stage down they were so hot and 'on' and lovin' it!?.

Yeah, sorry Katkick. As I said, I know I was a bit harsh - probably generalizing too much. I was thinking more of the Eddie Vedder types when I wrote that last bit. And that's why I wrote that bit about "scary fans".
I know about shy. I used to be that way myself. It IS much easier just sticking to your own little world than having to involve yourself in other peoples' lives by doing MNGs and stuff, or any other sort of public communication. Until you're forced to do it, it can seem like torture. But then you find out people aren't so scary after all. Being on stage, living out the rockstar dream and getting right into the music can be a purely personal, self-involved experience too in my humble opinion. I'm happy for your friends or anyone else who can enjoy themselves expressing their creativity that way, or any other way.
Sorry if anyone else felt offended by what I wrote too. It's just me letting off steam. Some artists big egos make me that way. But then I can turn around and feel sorry for them for being so self-deluded too. The music business is a scary business that way. And in other ways. Has anyone seen the preview clips of 'Dead Man Walking' yet?

'Dead Man Walking' that the movie with susan sarandon an sean penn? -good movie and after careful thought, .. perhaps I'd dish out some $$'s just to meet Gene Simmons and to hear him say my name ' his' way.. ha!!! eh? ..... naaaaaaa... I'd rather meet Sebastian and hang for a few minutes ;D buy more of his tee's/music and go to another of his shows (April, if your out there -- bring ' that' camera! ;D) *
