Nothing like those warm tropical breezes ... Wish Sebastian could do a tour which included Hawaii... that'd be great Sebastian can also do a tour here in Biloxi. Hint Hint. Pic of the beach is part of our 27 mile long beach here in Biloxi. That part was the part across from our mall.

Glad to see you back! ... 2 questions:... What are the ruins of Wivenhoe ( was this a city?) And what is fossicing? Sounds like fun "We are going fossicing at Wivenhoe" Still been a little slack have not been posting as much as I like too... So disorganised here at moment... and sharing computer with husband he is addicted to facebook game... and still cannot get on the bach board on my computer have no idea what is going on there... so can only post when I can get too hubbies computer... Even email is on his computer so heaps to catch up on there too... Do not like sharing LOL... Ok well yes wivenhoe was a little town kinda thing and they built the dam there but did not clear land left all the old farm houses there and roads so it has all been underwater for about 30 years I think I worked out... so when the dam started to dry out you saw all these old houses and roads and what not... and my friend and I would walk around them and find stuff would dig and find old bottles, farm equipment was just really interesting and fun... I am laughing my head off as we speak thinking about it... but once when we where down there... see some of it is quite muddy and you do have to be careful where you walk and I am walking along my friend says to me be careful and I take a step forward and sink end up waist deep in mud... my husband while laughing comes to help me out he ends up knee deep and as any good friend would do she stands there taking photo's of us in mud for five minutes before she decides to save us... see things like that are so me.. I always do stupid things... and amuse my friends...

It really is fun what you find and your right wildhorse some of the bottles and stuff would be worth money I imagine... but we just keep them all around the garden... I just liked finding the history of it all and funny how well it kept under water all these years.
Kat they need to build dam in a hurry so they just did not have the time to clear land.. just basically flooded it... will have to find some pictures for you it really is a site to see.. will stick them on facebook will not bore everyone here...

AND with the casino right there and all.. perfect too for part of a Sebastian Bach tour Out of 11 casinos so far here on the coast (before Katrina, there were 12 casinos and 1 ready to open), there is only one casino that would be perfect for Sebastian to play in. This is the Hard Rock Casino Resort. This picture was taken April of last year. When you first walk through the front doors of this casino, you walk into a lobby full of memorabilia from all sorts of artists. They have guitars, drumsticks, pics of the artists, some clothes of the artists. And it doesn't stop at the lobby. There is memorabilia all over the casino. Inside the casino is the Hard Rock Cafe, a buffet and a bunch of little shops. Hard Rock was the one casino that was ready to open its doors at the time of Katrina. After the storm came through the coast, the only thing left standing of the Hard Rock Casino, besides the hotel, was the million dollar guitar that still stands in front of the casino today. Hard Rock Casino finally opened its doors to the public June 30, 2007.

I've been to the Hard Rock in Nashville. NBFan is this your casino in the picture? No, I work at one about 4 miles down the road at most called Treasure Bay Casino Resort. Before the storm, the casino I now work for used to be an old pirate ship. If I can find some pics of the old Treasure Bay, I'll post them here. This is Hard Rock Casino Biloxi. I like to play at Hard Rock. That place is awesome inside.

I didn't think it was a good place to gamble though. It was way too noisy for me. But I did like the displays and exhibits.

I'm not a big gambler, I have to really concentrate or I make some really stupid mistakes. I usually only spend about $25 per gambling session. I like Roulette. At least I feel like I'm getting a couple of chances for my money. I went to more of the free shows in Vegas than I did to the tables. We went to Harrah's in New Orleans. I didn't gamble at all, and my hubby only bet the horse races.

I went to Harrah's in Vegas. not to gamble but to Toby Keith's Bar and Grill. overpriced food and forks that would break your toe if you dropped one on it! Loved the pirate show @ Treasure Island though. didn't go out too much there. it was @ least 100 degrees every night.

I posted over on Twitter before, but Melbourne had its hottest day IN HISTORY today!! 46.7 degrees which is 116.06 f .....couldnt even breathe outside today it was so hot. We have about 30 bushfires raging out of control as I type this, the state has gone up in flames, homes lost, and reports of people being killed from the fires....fortunately I am not that close to them, I live right on the beach, but I can smell the smoke when I stand in my backyard and the sky is RED here from it, it really has been a crazy and pretty scary day for us here, and its not over yet because the winds are terrible and are causing more fires to start up....a cool change has come through but now they are talking about thunderstorms and lightning strikes could spark more fires, so its going to be a long night for the firefighters...I feel for em, they do an amazing job. Hope my fellow Melbournians on the Board are all safe and not near any fires. At least we can say we lived through the hottest day in history!

Hope you Aussies are going to be OK. I think even that would be too hot for me. It was 105 when I was out in Arizona for my daughters graduation. I was wondering why everyone had on hiking boots, then I wore my cute little sandals and the soles started to melt on the concrete.
We had brush fires in my area two years ago. They burned for about a week. One of the lucky things about having at least half of the island as military, they used the blackhawk helicopters to dump water from the ocean on the fires to help put them out. I don't think there were any human deaths, but there was some loss of property and livestock.

I was driving across Texas after Katrina on my way to Nevada, and I happen to see brush fires in the median of the Interstate. A couple of days or so, Texas ended up closing parts of Interstate 40 due to brush fires. Now, California is dealing with droughts in some parts and mud slides in other parts. As far a Aussie's brush fires, I have already heard on CNN or FOX News, there has been 14 deaths reported due to the fires. I know we are all praying for the safety of all of the Aussie residents.

Today's news full of all kinds of things. A ship is stuck out side of Honolulu, HI. There are brush fires in Aussie. About 100 fisherman are stranded on ice on Lake Erie. And there are mudslides in parts of California.
Has anyone heard any good news? I think we all need some good news this weekend.
