the message boards are so boring atm, lets dust off this old classic Hmm..........boring eh? Maybe I'm wasting my time scouring the internet to look for stuff about Baz on tour then. Wondered why no-one's commenting much.  Yep, I'm being sarcastic. Seems to me this Board is all but dead for all most seem to care these days. Hoped I could help breathe a bit of new life into it as few seem to bother looking for vids etc, but seems I was wrong. I do it because I like to share, but few seem to share anything much on this Board anymore. Can't even get a good conversation going. Oh well...... |

It's after 3:00am in the morning where I am but I can't sleep because I can't stop thinking about what I was saying earlier about believing this board is is dieing. It's something that's been bugging me for a long, long time now, given that I've been a fan for more than 20 years and have thus been reading this (and the old) board for a long time too..........posting here actually for many years under a few different names now. I stopped here and there out of frustration and I have to wonder if others have stopped coming here and/or posting for the same reasons I did. I'd love to know so I'm finally asking the question. And I would dearly love a few replies. Please.  Yes I've been scouring the Net to look for things to post here to try to get a bit of interest going here again, but I personally think the real reason so few are bothering to post these days is because the board is not able to be used in the way these boards usually are......as a place people can freely discuss, even debate, the subject of the board. To me they are like communities, even a family, and the best of communities and families have the freedom to say what's on their minds. Here that's just not the case and it's human nature to stop expressing your views if there is too much censorship inhibiting what you have to say. Or worse, it's just erased, as though the opinion you've taken the time and trouble to express because you CARE enough to do it is some sort of 'abomination'. This is no reflection on you Ace as I know you are just following the rules of the board as set down by the boss. I assume it's you doing most or all of the deletions these days because the other 'moderators' don't even bother to post here much and the man himself not at all. At least you cared enough about all of us here on the board to tell us what's going on in your world so we know how busy you are. And I say bless you for that. It's appreciated that you still post at all. Actually I think that may be another reason why the board is in the sad state it is.........because he said he found it "boring" too and stopped posting. Funny about that. It's ironic really. I know boredom is poison to an Arian, and any self-respecting Arian needs a bit of a challenge to keep the fire burning in their belly so you wouldn't think he'd mind the people here expressing their concern over something he's said or done (or even not done), which may come across as a little negative, when he must know they are doing so BECAUSE they care so much. (This obviously doesn't apply to the trolls who occasionally post here.) But clearly those who are hoping he will listen to and maybe respond to what they have to say are the thousands now who post on his other sites like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. Ha, and as a wise friend pointed out, it's a shame he doesn't still do it here too as he could then collect the money from the advertising here himself instead of it going to those sites instead (I assume). But this board, as we all know, is so much better than those sites because we can talk to each other about our favourite man and his music without being limited to one or two lines of text. And without having to worry that what we've written might never 'appear' as well ha ha. It's a much friendlier, communal place......or it used to be anyway where we can go that step further and talk about him and his music, not just look for the quick thrill of getting a response from him. This board used to be so alive with so many different characters happily interacting with each other. It was a lot of fun. OK, one final thing I'd like to say (if you've bothered to read this far, lol). To my mind, people who like metal/hard rock music have fires of their own in their bellies. That's why we love and relate to this type of music. We have opinions about things too and will generally fight for the right to express them and be true to ourselves, just as our favourite rockstars tell us to through their music. So to have a board that inhibits us from doing that goes against everything I see Sebastian Bach as standing for. He does in my world anyway. I give myself the same rights he gives himself...the right to say and do what I want when it comes from the heart, even if some may find it a bit hard to take. But I do believe, as Dogface for one has proven on this board, that a bit of discussion can usually resolve issues between two like-minded individuals who have the same ultimate goal......to have continued access to the music they truly love. OK, done. Sorry if I've caused offence to anyone for any reason with what I've felt compelled to write tonight. Peace. |

Between family and work, I have been busy. I have been trying to post more here lately. I hope to continue. I have been lurking here on this board to check out what has been going on. I am not totally in the dark. I have been seeing the videos. I think that what has been posted for all of us is great. I hope they don't stop posting. I am a fan of Baz's. And I enjoy seeing the videos and reviews. ;D So keep up the great work everyone. I will post when I can. I do want to share an amazing story with all of you. Didn't know if I should or not because it is kinda personal. Only a few people know this story. And maybe everyone won't find this boring. So here goes. I have a daughter that I gave for adoption when she was 9 1/2 months old. She recently came back into my life. We started talking to each other on Dec. 4, 2009. I met her on Dec. 22, 2009. It was an amazing reunion. She and I talk everyday. Today, my daughter is 24 years old. And I couldn't be happier being a mom again.  So that is part of the reason for me not being as active here lately. Hope everyone understands.  |

Well I'll reply. Anyone here knows I am a true Baz fan...Hardly a day goes by that I am not in here looking for updates, or watching youtube Baz videos, searching the internet for Baz news etc. I have traveled by auto and plane hundreds and hundreds of miles for shows. Spent countless dollars. Waited forever for Baz to come out the back door after the show. I have shared pictures from shows, and shared the experiences we had there. I knew some post I had here would be deleted. With my background in here though; I didnt think others thought of me as a troll stiring up stuff though. I speak my mind..I have enjoyed the board for years now. I believe this is my last post though. Thanks to all here for sharing over the years. GOD bless you all...

I am one of the other 'moderators' who seldom post any more. I want to respond to why that is. The section I moderate is Bach on Broadway. There isn't anything to report or say, because Sebastian is not currently appearing on Broadway. I am also out in Hawaii. There is little to no rock scene out here. There is 1 classic rock station and 1 alternative station. The rest is Hawaiian or Jawaiian (Hawaiian Reggae). We get almost NO rock acts here, though I did see Aerosmith recently and I am seeing Bon Jovi this month. This is coming from a person who has gone to 2 shows in one night on more than one occasion.
Having said that, if I do hear any news or appearances I do try to post it. But unfortunately, with time differences and distance and other sources, most of what I hear is usually old news by the time I get it. I hope you can understand why I don't post all that often.
I do read the board regularly, and I appreciate the efforts others make in finding news and videos and such.

The rest of us will miss you and DO appreciate all you've posted on the board over the years......really!  When I read your post on Skid Row (assuming that's the one that caused this) I just thought, "haha, there goes cheeky mattiecocky again. He's such a one-eyed, passionate Baz fan and loves him so much." I saw it as just a bit of fun but I also found what you wrote interesting and then the response (from Mascheroni I think, another strong opinionated fan who's not afraid to express himself when it matters to him) I just thought, "Oh, so that's what it's all about", and was glad he posted too. I figured that would be the end of it and didn't notice that it had been deleted. I hate to say it though, but doesn't this just back up a few things I mentioned in that long rant I felt compelled to write last night. When someone as loyal as mattiecocky feels the need to delete himself from this board it really doesn't say a lot for what this board has become these days. I hope he changes his mind, maybe for the same reasons I have at times, because he likes to share his joy with like-minded souls and also frustration when you see things out there on the Net that you just KNOW others here would like to see and they are not being posted. Like I said, I have been around for a long time and understand those points you've made, but I appreciate that you've taken the time to make them here so maybe others who haven't gotten to know you as well over the years will understand too. I wasn't really referring to you when I made those comments about the moderators. It was mainly about the four who have the most power here (to delete and so on). I know they probably have their reasons too, most probably that they are busy people as well. All I'm saying is that it comes across as them not caring. In my experience, if something matters to you, and the people you are dealing with matter to you, you make the time to do it because you want to. And I don't think that's just me. Maybe it IS just me being a true Gemini though. I love to communicate with and hear the views of people I've come to know and 'chatted' with and miss it when it stops. Communicating is as important as the air I breathe to me but I also know, thanks to studying Astrology, that we are not all the same. And also that 'life gets in the way' sometimes. I'm just a sticky-beak I guess and like to know why what used to be a happy, friendly, communicative forum ... including your input... changes. |

I'd just like to say that I do have a life but I've organized it so that I can find the time to check on google and post here late at night and on days off, such as today. Sorry about that as it means I have time to go through and reply to all of these comments and no doubt you're all sick of hearing my 'views' by now, haha. But I figure I might as well finish what I started, and, yes, I do appreciate that I have time to do it when others don't. You made the comment that you don't know what some people expect of these boards and I got the impression that maybe you think I expect too much. I'd like to respond to that. I think it would be great if this board could be like the GNR forums for instance where there are thousands of members and you can get 4 or 5 hundred posts on one thread, all of them expressing their admiration for Axl and his band in one form or another. Some of it not always complimentary, but they sort things out amongst themselves usually and get to know each other better that way and seem, for the most part, to forgive and forget. And there's always the dreaded deletion option if they go too far haha. I would like to think that Sebastian would enjoy having such a large and active community of people showing their support for him in that way too. It's a HUGE compliment to any artist. And we all know that he has the thousands of followers from those who've registered to have their say on his other sites. But they're are not here, and I've been asking myself why I think that is. And I've come to the conclusion, rightly or wrongly, that it could be because those on these other much bigger forums have more freedom to express themselves and get to know each other and that being able to do that ends up making these sites into real communities.....families even. Yes they have their disagreements at times but that's part of belonging to a group of people who have strong views on a subject because they care. And, as I said in another post, discussion usually resolves the issue. One thing I've really enjoyed lately on the myGNR forum (my fave, and they often mention Baz) is how they've all come together and posted on this current Canadian tour. 400+ posts on these threads, with someone at the venue texting to someone who can't be, who then passes it along to everyone else on the board so everyone who wants to can join in the fun and find out what's happening at the show as it happens. They share it all together and it's great to see. And read. Don't you think it would be great if this board could become like that too? |

Ember I do get what you are saying about the board and I know I have been guilty of the not posting as often as I use too.. All though I do regularly check it for me I know it is just a time factor, and well a crap pregnancy I was sick an awful lot of it.. so I would look at board as I wanted to keep updated but not always the time to post... but hoping I will eventually get back into my routine.. Cause I do miss the fun we all use to have on the board, I remember the radio tour that was a hoot when we would all meet on the board and talk about it while it was on air, bit like they do on GNR board and the texting cause I have seen that too and it is fun to just read it..
I for one appreciate all the posts you make of your great finds makes it so much easier for people like me who no longer have the chance to surf the net looking for it anymore... ;D

I'm feeling a bit naughty now. Sorry Aussiegirl. It really wasn't my intention to make people feel bad for not posting. I know quite a few of you......especially you........have been busy with 'other things', lol. I do read and pay attention to what people post on the Board here. But that reminds me: I must say that I notice there's a lot of PMing going on.......that many seem to log on to do that and don't end up posting anything (and not talking about you here specifically either). And that also makes me wonder if the 'rules' +/or culture of the board were to change a bit giving people more freedom to speak their minds, if people would feel they could say more to all of us and not have to PM. Saying that was my main intention in posting that long rant. Congrats again on your cute little guy. Little men and big ones all keep us women very busy, don't they haha. Edit: Oh and before anyone feels the need to remind me, I know it's Sebastian himself who has dictated the type of board he wants. I just thought that maybe because he doesn't seem to be reading or posting anymore (I figure that cause he no longer comes on and delete negative stuff anymore, although he did recently when someone pointed out on Facebook that that 'death' thing was posted here) we could maybe try to relax the 'rules' a little and see what happens.

I did say 'I have a cancellation...'' not 'I have a life'.. the connotation of the latter is not what I'd have intended from my statement 'I have a cancellation'. (**update,*** I had also said I got busy over the summer as I recall now. Also not the same connotation as 'I have a life' ~just sayin' Hard to quote a post I took down .. lol ) Aslo, I said 'not sure what some expect from a board but each has a life of it's own' .. nothing was implied as a feeling toward you personally. And when I have the time, I'll tell the whole story one day. Thanks. And I do understand why you haven't been around. He is adorable. Wow...I dissapear for a few days and things start happening!! I still come here everyday....its a "habit" now I guess...I get to work, log onto my computer and check my favorite sites to see whats going on....this site happens to be one of them, so im in here pretty much everyday looking around.... The thing is, I dont really see this Board as a place JUST to post Videos and News....in fact, most of the time, thats not what I come here to look at. If I wanna watch some Baz Videos then I just go straight to Youtube and watch them there....I will listen to Interviews and stuff here on the board, but I see the board as WAY more than just a place where we just post Videos and update News....dont get me wrong I DO APPRECIATE the effort that people make on here to post the Vids and all that stuff, and people should keep doing it because there are others on here who DO love that stuff....But I kind of see the Board more as a "Community" where we can all talk to each other about Baz stuff and NON BAZ STUFF...thats why I love this particular thread "Anything Goes"...because its the place where you CAN talk about anything! Dosent have to be about Baz and I think this board NEEDS threads like this because even though this Board is mainly related to Sebastian Bach, his music, activities, life etc etc...we all have lives as well and many of us have been here for a long time now and have developed friendships (as much as you can have an Internet friendship lol) and im always keen to meet the new people on the Board and hope more and more come along. Im friends with many of you on Twitter and stuff, but im not really a fan of Twitter...its very limited in how much you can say, so I dont use it very often...I prefer this Board, because I can be more "personal" here....Its great that people come here and "lurk" around and stuff, but I get a little confused when I read that...I mean...your here right? So SAY SOMETHING!! The Board will only get interesting or stay alive if people POST, not lurk. I must admit I did go to the GnR Messageboard a couple of weeks ago and was surprised by 3 things: 1 - The amount of Members and Users on there....HUGE numbers. 2 - The freedom of speech that was allowed on the Board....there were a number of "negative" posts on there, however, the Members were "big" enough to either ignore them or work through them with the people concerned. 3 - I absolutely loved the fact that people were logging in there whilst at the Concert and giving song by song updates. I thought that was a fantastic idea and I wish we could do that here, although admittedly the numbers on here are tiny compared to the numbers on line at any one time on the GnR Board. Another thing...im all for freedom of speech, but I wont put up with "Trolls" who come here just to deliberately upset people and slur Baz's good name and character....and I see a big diff between that and someone who we can all see is a Fan, but just has a different opinion on a subject....As previously mentioned above, this is Baz's board, and he made the rules...so I understand why things get deleted sometimes, but I have to admit, I sometimes wish there was a little more flexability there.... Also for the record I think that Ace, R&RMom, Kat, JoJo and Snakecharm all do a WONDERFUL job here and im not having a dig at any of them...rules are rules and thats the way it is, but I would love for Baz to come back here and read these posts and maybe think about wether this Board could work a little better.....I know some of you are going to the shows coming up...maybe if you get a chance to catch up with Baz, let him know that we all would love it if he could drop in and see whats going on in here and catch up with us all? Maybe we could have a "Suggestion Box" on here of ways to improve the Board that could get sent to Baz and see if hes interested in any of them? I dunno...just thinking... oh, and I am disapointed that Mattycocky chose to leave. He was a big time fan and its disapointing that he was made to feel like he was causing problems. Anyway...I better go and do some work, but in finishing, I love the Messageboard and I love everyone on here and have made connections and friendships with HEAPS of you, and thats great....I just wish more people would actually POST and not "lurk"....Im here all the time and I TRY to post something interesting or silly or funny or whatever to keep things moving. It might not work and people might think im an idiot but thats ok, im just being me.....yes the Board could probably do with some "tweaking" here and there, but it is what it is, and I will never leave unless you dudes and dudettes kick me out! "OK, one final thing I'd like to say (if you've bothered to read this far, lol). To my mind, people who like metal/hard rock music have fires of their own in their bellies. That's why we love and relate to this type of music. We have opinions about things too and will generally fight for the right to express them and be true to ourselves, just as our favourite rockstars tell us to through their music. So to have a board that inhibits us from doing that goes against everything I see Sebastian Bach as standing for. He does in my world anyway. I give myself the same rights he gives himself...the right to say and do what I want when it comes from the heart, even if some may find it a bit hard to take. But I do believe, as Dogface for one has proven on this board, that a bit of discussion can usually resolve issues between two like-minded individuals who have the same ultimate goal......to have continued access to the music they truly love.

Sebastian dosen't delete messages here on the board unless it is a serious violation or some snitch e-mails him that they feel offended about a post.
I sign in sometimes because i was going to respond to something outrageous and then don't. I get no PM's . Matticocky is gone? Thats unbelievable. That's the wrong dude that should be resigning.

Hey Accept...im not kissing anyones ass mate, never have, and if you have read any of the posts ive put up here over the years you would clearly see that there are things I dont agree with and when I see something i dont like or dont agree with, I post my thoughts....just like now.
You dont have to come to the Board mate. Its your choice to log in isnt it? If you think the Board is so bad then why dont you suggest ways to improve it? Dont come on here and try and shoot me down for having an opinion.

Firstly, sorry all - bona fide lurker in your midst.
Anyway.
I've been reading over the last page, and it seems to be a general consensus that people here would like to have a greater freedom of speech. I have to say, I agree with this entirely.
We are all fans here, but we also all have a wide variety of opinions. In some cases these opinions may be viewed as controversial, but isn't that what makes life interesting? Shouldn't we be embracing that rather than discouraging it? If we don't agree with what someone has said, isn't this the perfect place to hold a debate?
I think we can all trust each other enough to post sophisticated constructive criticism (good or bad). So why don't we?
So this question goes directly to the moderators, Ace in particular -
Just for a change of pace, could we try reviewing the rules a little? And I'm not talking about the official board rules (http://sebastianbach.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=491 ), these are all reasonable. I'm talking about the unspoken rules, such as 'no criticising Sebastian'.
If people feel they are restricted as to what they can say in regards to Sebastian's art, actions or endeavors, they become timid and are less likely to post.
We could really shake the board up.
Why don't we try it out?
All this being said, I do truly respect all the hard work that goes into maintaining this board. once again, to Ace and all the moderators, a huge thanks for the years of enjoyment.

I for one am sad that Matt has left the board,it had nothing to do with "ME" or any of the mods He made a post & two fellow fans did not agree with it, IM not even sure that is why he left. PigeonWing As for people coming here to trash talk Baz? Why would that ever be tolerated?

I get easily bored but never by Sebastian Bach. He's the biggest reason why I hang around here and sure big reason is the cool people here. * For some time I felt too that many things shouldn't be said here don't know why. But then I just gave flying whatever (just delete it) I don't care, and kept posting. Like it or not.  I'm pretty stubborn. * We don't need to agree with everything. That's life. Great. I'm really happy to see that I'm not the only one who thinks a little more freedom to express opinions and more input generally would be welcome here. I would like to say a couple of things about some of what's been said though.
To Ace:
I honestly don't think any one of us is wanting to "trash talk Baz" and I'm not entirely sure what you mean by that. Do you think that if one of us was to say that we aren't too happy he's doing a particular thing....as a for instance, touring with Poison back in the day (knowing a few were not too happy with that)......that that is trash talking him? I think it would be handy to know what YOU think is cool to talk about and say and what is not, given that you are the one who often has to make the decision to 'delete' or not.
And I really HOPE you don't think that we are having shots at YOU personally re what you do and don't delete. Overall I think you play it very fair and I believe that you are just following the board rules as you interpret them as being laid down by Baz and I think everyone is probably of the same view. But 'interpretation' of those rules could really be the point here. Maybe we are all just not too sure on how they are being interpreted and so say nothing when we could say something after all.
I've preferred to err on the side of caution myself in the past and yet found that I've had posts deleted which I THOUGHT were made wholly in SUPPORT of Baz. And they weren't deleted by you Ace, but by Sebastian himself. And that's the second point I'd like to make to

I would like to think that what you said about Baz only deleting stuff he sees as "a serious violation or some snitch e-mails him that they feel offended about a post," as you put it is true. I can't agree with this unfortunately, as I stated in the paragraph above.
I'll never forget how sorry I felt, for instance, for one of Baz's new county music fans who joined up here and went to a WHOLE lot of trouble to type up a huge list of radio station links in the hope that those who could would get on to them to drum up support for 'Battle with the Bottle'. It must have taken her ages to do and Baz deleted it. She deleted herself from the Board shortly thereafter, to my mind, obviously stung that he'd reacted to her well-intentioned gesture on his behalf this way. Just saying.
(Oh and I'm sorry you won't be able to go the show. Guess the checkup didn't go too well. Hope you're OK.)

I agree with everything you said......as usual, lol. You always put it so well. And I especially like the suggestion you made that maybe someone could ask Sebastian about the Board if they are lucky enough to meet up with him at the show they're going to. Guess they'd have to be pretty tactful about it though, lol.
